By: Gentry Hawk -- November 15, 2022 Anthony Richardson and the Florida Gators are coming off the most complete game they’ve played all season after taking down the Gamecocks in the Swamp last weekend. Richardson looked as comfortable as ever running and throwing the football while the defense dominated for four straight quarters. This weekend, the Gators look to keep their foot on the gas as they travel to Nashville to face the Vanderbilt Commodores in their final SEC match-up of the season. Anthony Richardson’s leadership is his biggest improvement | GatorCountry.com
Leadership and growing into his physical and mental potential (and not turning the ball over) are Richardson’s best improvements. I never doubted his leadership, but I was beginning to doubt his physical abilities when his mental confidence was shaken. There are plenty of good leaders without his arm talent just as there are plenty of athletes with his arm talent who are not good leaders. I get what the article is trying to say, but “leadership” in a QB does not sufficiently describe what has improved in AR.
His legs are his best asset. And, he throws really well at times. Being able to chose between running and throwing requires critical thinking skills and ultimately the right choices. I assume his heart is in it. Based on my layman's observations, his decision making, consistency and execution need to catch-up. Here's to him putting it all together. Weather here or when he moves on to the NFL. Go Gators.
