I want to believe... I need to believe... I do believe... We are so close to becoming the program that we have been in the recent past that it almost hurts not to be there right now. This is the year Napier has to take that next step with our team, and I have a realistic optimism that he will bring us back to better than respectable. It's time to shut the clowns up.

 

Napier brings a lot to the tabbouleh.

 

I think we win 8 or more games this year.

 

I do, too. Napier may very well be named coach of the year, not just in the SEC, but nationally.

 

It's been a while since I can feel good about the Gators strength and conditioning. Now it finally seems like we got the right man for the job.

Ehh... I don't buy that strength and conditioning is such a complicated thing that other teams can't do it well also. Not to say that it isn't important, because it is.

Of course, we don't want to be lacking in this respect, but I've heard all sorts of preseason fluff about how our strength program is the best blah blah blah.

Let's see how it plays out.

 

Sounds good, but I was drinking the kool-aid this time last year.

 

The nutrition seems to be the hardest part... But we are getting more scientific with regard to maximizing weightlifting.

 

I dont think its about UF having an advantage. Its about keeping up with the league. I heard Ali Peek on a podcast say that at fall practice last year former players watching practice came away with the thought that our S&C was lacking. At that point it is too late to switch gears, but immediately at the end of the season, CBN demoted his friend Hocke and hired an NFL guy. It wasn't lost on CBN that we were deficient, lost games because of it, and we needed help. Hopefully we have gotten it straightened out and are moving to parity.

 

So was I. This year's batch is much better though. I think I'll have some more.

 

With SnC, you have to have an A hole ️ n charge who stays on every detail and in the players poo, in a good way. Laziness on the staff will translate to laziness by the players. We have certainly seen that. No excuses.

Thank you. So many of us extrapolate or read way too into what they think it's happening. There's one question: What was our HC seeing last year that he was presumably comfortable with? "Oh, we changed S&C, coach said our team looks different, etc". It was supposed to be SEC level last season. The lack of attention to detail and not inspecting what's expected, cannot be present this season.

 

More than likely won’t be perfect as for any coach every year and there’s always changes. All they can do is strive for perfection. They will never reach it.
