Are you rooting for the SEC?

I always root for SEC teams, except for UGA (I have a strong hate for them nurtured over the years, especially in 1980), Tennessee (I lived in Knoxville for eight years), Alabama (arrogant mothers), Auburn (they're okay; I just don't like them), MSU (that mother who helped Condo hurt his ankle should have been suspended), USC (general principle), Miss. (I'm sick of Mannings), UK (they own the refs in Rupp, but always think they're getting screwed), Missouri (a bunch of basketball thugs), A & M (see Missouri), Vandy (because they have a cramped, stupid-looking gym), LSU (do I really have to explain this one?), and probably the rest too, but I can't think of a reason right now. Who needs a reason?

I live in ACC country, so yes.
They have run their mouths for too long.

If I lived in Florida still, then maybe not, but probably still because of FSU and UM.

MIZZ - No
Bama - No
Auburn - No
Tennessee - No

Everyone else, sure why not, until they meet UF.

 

How does this year's SEC performance in the ncaaT impact next year? I don't see it, unless it's just about perception. Every year is a reset.

 

As someone once said, rooting for teams just cause they are in the SEC is like rooting for the devil cause “he’s in the Bible”

 

Only if they upset a team that we would've seen later. Otherwise, don't care if they all lose.

 

The league gets $'s for every SEC game played. Some goes to the schools to defray expenses. The rest is divvied up evenly among every team in the league. So while I would never cheer for Georgia if they win it puts $'s in UF's AA's pocket.

 

Read GC multiple times everyday, but haven’t logged on for close to a year I don’t think (lengthy, a bit scary hospital stay followed by too much physical therapy; I’m fine, all is well), but liked this post a lot. Cudos.

 

Rooting for the sec to have a winning record overall, but that's it. That includes ole Miss beating the heels and Okla beating UConn. Anybody beating duke works also.
On the other hand, would be thrilled with Auburn, Bama and Vols losing next round, esp the first 2.

 

Nope. Not pulling for any SEC teams, but not rooting against a couple. IF there can get to play us I want them to lose. Can't stand Pearl, or Bob Newhart that coaches Tenn. And I HATE the way Mizz. and Texas A & M play. Not sure that is even basketball. But as I've said before, the conference is so big now I don't care at all about other SEC teams. And we have to recruit against them so they can kiss it.

Loved watching Georgia lose and just want Tennessee out, after that I’d like most to win unless they are major obstacles in our path.

 

I don’t mind Pearl and AU won’t advance deep in my opinion anyway. Don’t like Oates and the Missouri coach. Caliper doesn’t bother me. The balance of the coaches I have no opinion but wish Buzz would not wear that five piece suit; he sweats like a whore in church.

I am big time, except Georgia. I don’t know why because I can’t stand UTooth but I’m really pulling for them to make a deep run this year.

 

I'm not an SEC fan. I'm a Gator fan and normally pull against other SEC teams for the way they've treated Florida over the years. Selectively I will pull for an SEC team - like Ole Miss today over North Carolina. I NEVER pull for Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and now Texas and Oklahoma in any sport on any occasion.

 

Generally, not so much. But with this particular year it makes what we did that much more remarkable. What this conference did was historically incredible. It would completely water down any success we had. I hope there are 7 teams left going into next weekend.

Unless we lose. Then, I don’t care. Give it to Duke, I guess. Whatever.
