The info is he was the third best quarterback in the country last week. That’s the data. People are blaming him for the loss.

I know people may not be up to speed on analytics but when I say third best I don’t mean passer. I mean overall quarterback. Complete performance. Influence on winning. The data that analyzed thousands of plays, thousands of situations, decades of games, etc is slightly better calibrated than “the eye test”.

Is it possible it depends if he knows nfl scouts are present? All I know is they ere there during the UK game and this game. For those doing casual research, there are some nfl mock drafts having him going in the first round, the latest is with the Lions. So, scouts know he can run, but what better way to impress then showing them you can pass.

Haha whatever dude. Third best and still lost the game. You can take your bronze medal to the pawn shop and let me know how much money they will give you.

Not trying to be argumentative nor even trying to win a debate. But do I think AR is the third best qb in college football? No. Best athlete? Probably. What makes him good is running/passing. But I'm ok to agree to disagree.
All I'm saying is if we had the AR that makes AR really good, I think the game would have come out differently.

I don't know who PFF College is but I do know who ESPN is and they said AR was #53 last week which doesn't sound right but sounds closer than #3.

You should at least acknowledge the bias of the analysis you use to support your argument about AR rank. The top five had widely varied performances and the other 4 won their games. Only S Rattler had more yds and tds everyone else had less td and yds. All had much higher comp %. AR had the longest completion at 74 yds. The 2 fourth down throws given distance and situation impacted the overall weighting.

As said by many others 400 yds is meaning less 3rd conversion killed the team and less than 60% didnt help the team cause, keep in mind 5 of his 25 (20%)comps were quick screens yielding little. This top 3 weekly performance against the 120 ranked pass defense.

im glad he is getting more comfortable in the pocket but running on some of the 17 incomps could have helped play calling and made the offense more productive

So . . . put the team on his back and overcome all the other mistakes and dropped balls and penalties and won the game = Superman. Not nonsense.

Listen, 3rd best qb this past week, and who did we play? Vandy, who chose to stop the run knowing AR's arm wasn't likely to beat them. They sold out to stop the run (although we never chose to run outside which was there for the taking.) We chose from the get to for some odd reason to pass, pass, pass even though we were depleted of our best wr's. Still, Vandy was willing to give up passing yards to stop our strength of running.
This so called stat as who was the best qb is a bit warped. Doesn't account for the opponent. Doesn't account for key plays or third down conversions. Doesn't account for leadership. Doesn't account for wins. Want to know who was number 1 last week? It was LSU's qb, guess who they played? UAB. Stats don't tell the whole story. Do you think AR or LSU's qb played better than usce's qb who played UT?

He should be behind the 50% that won their games. Isn’t the role of a qb, the leader of the team, someone everyone trusts to touch the ball every down, have a positive affect on winning?

We didn’t need him to be Superman. Just needed him to play his game, which is an athletic mobile QB. He didn’t do that.

What might this game have been had AR kept the ball and walked in for a TD instead of settling for a fg? What might the complexion of the game have been had he played like he did vs uga from the get go instead of trying to be a drop back passer? How might the game been different if his running opened up running lanes for our rbs because vandy now would have to account for his running?

I think the question is, was it a choice or a mental block? We don’t know. Some think he’s doing his best and it’s the coaches’ fault. Some feel AR is holding himself back. We don’t know, but I’m of the latter group based on what I’ve seen up to this point.

From todays presser, BN said AR has the freedom to run the play or audible, in other words AR gets to decide what he wants to do. And evidently BN is still fine with that.

Someone let Shane Mathews know he was rated ahead of Caleb Williams.

Yep, we lose by two touchdowns. What about the 5/6 drops we had? Maybe rated 1 or 2 without all those drops.

Exactly. As I’ve said many times before AR not running is on the Head Coach. If Billy wants him to run more he has to do is say Ant run more. It’s obviously not d big problem to Billy.

    It’s a team game….

Our QB played that well and we still lost. That’s a major indictment on the rest of the team and coaching decisions

Out of the top five, AR was the only QB not to win his game. AR is very talented athletically. Unfortunately, that has not translated to consistently winning. All the great statistics people quote about him get blown up by the fact he is 6-6 as a starter. Now, he may not have the best talent around him. But as a supposed 1st round draft pick, you would think he would be making the lack of talent around him better by making accurate throws, running with some (not all) disregard for his body, and willing his team to a win when they don't have their best stuff on that particular day. With AR, he's just not that guy at this point. Could he be? I really don't know. But I guarantee you that if he can't inspire his teammates at the college level, chances are it's not going to change if he makes it to the NFL.
