Im saying Napier isnt horrible and DJ matters way more. We will see if DJ is one of the best to ever play at UF or is he just another AR. Im thinking his floor is above AR's. Looks to be a better qb as a freshman. If DJ goes into the nfl hof, he will score plenty of points no matter who his oc is.

With clearly a vast talent advantage. Its players way more than coaches. Coaches make a difference when all other things are equal. I think SOS is clearly a better offensive mind than almost anyone but he won it all exactly once. Think about why that is.

We played georgia straight up for three quarters last season with a significant(perceived) talent disadvantage. Re Spurrier's teams, most of his QBs were extremely good in college but never in the NFL. System?

Months ago I was mad at CBN, and I am so grateful the mods let me blow off the steam.

I have come to terms with the realities of where we are and the vagaries of cfb and the money involved, and I have mostly stopped yelling at clouds.

I now indulge myself in enjoying the incremental development of our roster and the pieces that have improved.

I enjoy the Gators similarly to golf. If I hit a few fairways nicely I have had a good enjoyable day. I have stopped taking personally what coaches, boosters and admin do.

Georgia clearly had a qb that wasnt all that. If they had a good one, maybe they win another ship. We lost our qb which was our only advantage.

DJ Lagway has a better record as a starter than any previous Florida QB under CBN and you think he has a "long way to go compared to Mertz?" That is a horrible take. DJ Lagway won games for us this past season with things Graham Mertz was simply unable to do physically.

I'm not sure what your point is now. QB matters, OL matters, skill positions matter. We have a good>great QB. We are all happy for it. But we will not win much without all that has to surround a good QB and happen on the other side of the ball, which the entire staff is responsible for.

Mertz was more polished and had a better short game. DJ is vastly more talented and his ceiling hasnt even been approached.

Georgia lost games because their qb sucked ass. I dont think our staff will be the difference in 6 or ten wins. Our players will have more to do with that. Our coaches are competentand arent going to cost us a bunch of games. I like our staff other than the crazy decisions at times. Call timeouts before the half and run the ball three times in a row. What the hell was that.

I would welcome an accomplished, proven OC.
That said, CBN watched and led this offense for 2 1/2 years and it was inconsistent and underwhelming. It got better at about the midway point last year.
He starts next season with the best offensive line, by far, he has had, an incredibly deep and talented RB room, a QB who is a leader and talented. Even our tight end room is looking better. If I’m CBN I’m gonna give it another go this year THEN turn it over to someone else.

Our offense got better at the midway point right about when DJ started playing.

Yep DJ changed it al. Same plays came in but DJ looked long to short rather than Mertz who looked short then long. I think other teams got caught with their pants down not expecting us to throw more than 6 yards down field and as a result DJ had some defenses confused when he started throwing haymakers downfield. The being said bunch sets and all the receivers being within 10 yards of each other and of course the 3 yard passes on 3rd and 10 plus are just putrid. DJ turns chicken shit to chicken salad but it is frustrating to watch play calls just stink (and Im a Lume specialist). Imagine how much better DJ and this offense would look with a a stud OC putting pressure on the defense with imaginative play calls instead of turtle ball. Dare I say imagine someone like Mullen calling the plays with a talent like DJ and this offense is worlds better and can beat anyone.

Is Mullen looking for an oc job? I think Bobo may be available after next year if their qb sucks again
