Last 3 games teams figured out Lagway struggles when you drop 8 in this zone running play action scheme. Ole Miss dropped 8 62% of the time. LSU 67% and FSU 67% respectively. Billy doesn’t have a lot of quick zone beaters in his arsenal of play calling. He has leaned on slants and digs in the past when teams are obviously playing zone and quite frankly the other team knows it’s coming. I know Billy will continue to call plays but I pray he brings someone in that will help him with his passing scheme. We desperately need to start scheming receivers open and stop relying on having better athletes winning despite the defense knowing the play or D.J will never hit his potential.

Plenty of stuff to self scout and work on before next season. One of the big advantages of DJ’s extended playing time. Much better than having to work on it mid season next year.

So if UF / Napier hires an offensive coordinator, then what will the negative nellies on this board say?:

OH that person sucks, terrible choice, I told you Napier can't coach, can't pick good assistant coaches and is what he is:
Sunbelt Billy. Remember these coaches and their OC's? PB&J death threat guy? Chump? Yeah, I noticed their selections were overwhelming.
Overwhelming in terms of NOT scoring points!

NOBODY on this board knows for sure that an offensive coordinator would be "better" or more successful than Napier calling plays next year.

Kellen Moore ain't coming, and those brilliant OC's just waiting for the call, that low hanging fruit, tell me who would come?

Uh - Who and where are they? Oh wait, I know the answer from this board, pick some high profile NFL name and pay em 5 - 8 million dollars
    or offer them Alachua County.

How many times does Napier have to say "NO", or just refuses to go in that direction before this fan base recognizes it ain't gonna happen?

I'm not saying critics are right or wrong, but I will say no one knows for sure. Regarding that 29,28,28 ppg deal. Yeah, statistically close.
But the bulk of the offensive line is returning, the running back room is terrific, the receiver room, while young, has great speed, height and potential, and UF may have the best "COLLEGE" QB to compete under a Napier team.

    UNREAL.

When UF played LSU, LSU was still in contention for a possible playoff spot, although on the outside looking it.
When UF played Ole Miss they were a UF win away from the playoffs.

I could not disagree more that LSU and Ole Miss were "the weakest part of the schedule".
Didn't Ole Miss pound UGA a week or two previous?

Not to mention, it would take some evidence that LSU or Ole Miss were less talented than us.
