Everything? What a joke.. the CPI is everything. My point is you are cherry picking data to support your argument that the CPI is understated. You are in the wrong place for that. No one here is a dummy. Why do you even try with this kindergarten bullshit of anecdotal evidence?
You buy a phone or a tv every 3-5 years. You go to the store weekly. Tell me which one is more concerning LOL. Holy crap, I can't believe someone is actually trying to say there isn't high inflation right now.
The data is clear inflation is a huge issue. IF you want to keep your head in the sand go ahead. The rest of the US knows inflation is a huge problem. And I love the "cherry picking" argument. I showed what people buy every week at the store. No cherry picking there. Good try. You are batting 0.000 in this thread.
And a smart phone or TV costs 1000x more than a cup of yogert ... I mean, people don't buy them everyweek, but I'd guess over time most people spend more on TVs and Smart Phones than they do on yogert ... so that is part of the equation, too.
First, for context current gas prices are in the ballpark of what they were from time to time between 2008-2014, and that isn’t even adjusted for inflation. Second, US refining capacity isn’t growing to a large degree because refineries are hugely capital intensive and take decades to recover the cost, and given our plans to move away from fossil fuels why would any sane company invest billions into more refineries. third, if there were price collusion now, why wasn’t there price collusion prior to the pandemic? So producers all of a sudden figure out that they could collude and get away with it? That doesn’t make any sense. It’s a supply and demand equation and if demand increases and supplies don’t the prices go up. all those on the left who support the transition away from fossil fuels to whine when the price goes up are being hypocrites. You should want the price to go up because it accelerates the use of greener alternatives.
You know I was just having fun... being ironic. She is maybe good at bartending... but she's not very good at politics.
Yet those same people so concerned about the $30k single mom’s ability to fill up her tank refuse to enact Medicaid expansion in states like FL and TX which is already 90% paid for by the federal govt. explain that one.
Lol. I've had my Iphone Ten for 6 years. Got it for free for switching cell phone plans. Let me know when Publix or Aldi is giving away yogurt.
I think there should be Medicaid expansion in Florida for sure. Among the many things I disagree with DeSantis on, but that isn't related to this topic.
LOL. I'm already paying a monthly rate, why not get a free phone with a plan that was cheaper than I was paying, so yeah, I believe in Free Phones. Thanks for playing.
The CPI is the inflation rate. That is the data that puts inflation in perspective. Anecdotal prices on a few items you pay attention to is simply deflection. Youre not good at this.
And force her to have another baby, and force her to pay outrageous rates for car and home insurance, AND don't pay her a living wage because she is in the tourism industry. Welcome to Flaridah!
Swing and a miss. This is simple, but I guess I have to explain it to all the ones who are math challenged. Company A paying $175 a month for 3 lines. Move to company B for $150 a month total and then get 3 free phones. You go ahead and explain that is just like your example. I'm already paying a monthly fee. If you found a cell phone service that doesn't charge you a monthly carry rate, please share that with the group.
LOL. Yeah, sure, it's me who isn't good at this. The things people need at the grocery store are much more expensive. Simple as that. You keep thinking there isn't inflation. The rest of us will be here in reality.
Please dont lie. Especially when all we have to do is scroll up. I never said there "isn't inflation". I agreed that 3% is representative based on the CPI where you are trying to argue its way higher because of your "feels". The argument that 3% isnt catestrophic when 2% is the target is 100% accurate. Your BS anecdotes are just that. Anecdotally based on here you regularly piss on your shoes you miss the mark so much.
I'll explain it to you real simple like. You paid for your 3 phones by paying a monthly rate that allowed the phone company to cover the cost of your phones they sold you plus your plans. It doesn't matter that company B costs less than company A. You sound like my wife trying to explain to me that she "saved" money by spending money on things that are on sale. Nothing is "free", bro.
You are in a contract now and it's a game the phone company plays. A salesman told me all about one year, same with trading in your phone. They charge you for that phone one way or another. 9 sneaky ways cell phone companies get you to pay more
