This is just wrong lol. Mullen’s classes never ended up being that high when you factor in all the non-qualifiers and people kicked out. He fluffed his classes….this has been said soooooooooooooooo many times

Agreed, but we are going to have players in different positions because of the loss of Torrence, who no one ever had to fill in for at RG, and Gouraige at LT, regardless of anyone else leaving. That's what spring practices, fall camp, and 3 cupcakes at the beginning of the season is for.

As to who we'll miss, watch this video, and turn the volume off because the orator is a GA Jalen Carter homer who praises Carter for "winning" two reps, which did not result in affecting the two plays. Jalen Carter's one rep against White is telling. We need 5 OL built from the ground up by our line coaches to be able to handle GA's DL. They are talented and well coached. If we can't handle them, we won't be worried about who is getting us back to championships.

LOS. That’s where we need the upgrade.

They ended up exactly where they ended up. None of the services re-ranks classes after signing day is over due to non-qualifiers, etc and never has. Yes we can attempt to mentally do that math in our head after time has passed by, but honestly we don't know what will become of Napier's classes either. Its not logical to try to compare one of Mullen's wash-out classes to a class where the ink still isn't dry. We just have to wait, see, and hope that these classes will be full of impact, show-up, and stick around kind of players.

Well, now that’s true. But we also won’t know the actual ranking of Napier’s first real class in the sense that you mean for some time, either. All we know presently is that he’s in no danger of cracking the top 10, and that’s not where we hired him to be. But as I’ve said many times, I would love to be proven wrong as wrong can be.

I have a much better feeling. We knew some kids were iffy grade wise, we knew that one OL had visa issues….we knew of a lot of issues and hoped for the best. I don’t know of any from our last class or this class. This 23 class has the feeling and making of an ultra productive class

It takes 2 to 3 years to get a line really going well. We have one freaking guy that has played a significant amount at all

He could get four or five warm bodies that have three star rankings and it would put us in the top 10 but it would not make us a better football team

Would it blow your mind to know that before this year White had 7 total starts and Tarquin had 2 (all of one more than Waites has). I expect a bumpy beginning to next year, but it won't be a debacle that so many are expecting just because the sky is falling in the portal.

But they have been practicing toget for three years, they know each other’s movements as well as their own. Nfl lines that have been together 5 years usually are better as a unit than their talent suggests. You can’t just throw five talented guys out there and expect tgat ten games makes experience. The top teams have lines that have been together from day one out of highschool. Tarquin’s 2 starts are not where his experience really mattered.

There's some validity to that re cohesion, but in this age virtually nobody will have a line that has been together from day one. UF will have about 9 returning OL, 3-4 true frosh, and probably another 3 or so experienced portal guys. That's probably not all that much different from most rosters.

Don’t expect 11 wins next year. 8 wins would be a good year with this roster.

This shows how much stronger and faster their defensive line was.

A team can quickly be upgraded by effective use of the portal as well. Programs like Kansas, LSU and FSU have quickly had portal success. Lot of FSU roster departed via portal as well. Need players that will buy in to your system and fit your system, both mentally and physically

They were elite recruits and have good coaching. O'Cyrus pretty much handled his assignments. There wasn't a real pressure on AR from Jalen Carter until Jalen Carter tried the other side of the line. I believe we can get 5 across the line at a real competent level pretty quickly with these OL coaches. Maybe not to the level of O'Cyrus, but hopefully close.

Agreed. The age of exceptional 5th year senior OL in the SEC on a budget are gone. Big bucks and exceptional coaching are going to win championships.
