Antisemitism is uniquely prevalent and ugly. Full stop there. We can acknowledge that while also having concerns about hatred of Arabs and Muslims and potential backlash. Bush was inclusive with how he talked about and addressed the Muslim American community after 9/11. On the other hand, the former guy campaigned on a Muslim ban. Not sure what more may be known now, but there was a man who stabbed to death a six year old Palestinian/Muslim boy in Chicago. The man is reportedly a veteran, has no prior criminal convictions, and was really into current events and talk radio.

Landlord fatally stabbed 6-year-old Muslim boy after listening to conservative radio, prosecutors say

I would add that Trump promised to reimpose his Muslim ban if he is elected again.
Trump vows to expand Muslim ban and bar Gaza refugees if he wins presidency
I would also add that while not true of the anti-Semites of the left, a significant percentage of anti-Semites of the right are also Islamophobic and reiterating what I stated in a previous post antisemitism is probably the only form of religious/ethnic/racial bigotry that has adherents on both the far left and the far right.

I have stop posting every example of horrible incident of anti-Semitism that I see because they are just too numerous. But I don't mean to diminish their impact.

But this one from one of the world's richest and most powerful men, a key part of the US defense establishment, seemed to horrible to ignore

What I would like to know is how much of what is being called left wing antisemitism in places like college campuses is mainly groups that have some level of Muslim association. I know in the much publicized Harvard Groups condemning Israel after the Hamas attacks, almost all of the groups were either Palestinian or Muslim affiliated.

That doesn’t excuse it at all, but it’s a bit of context that I think is important.

Did you see those type of anti-muslim protests after 9-11 in the US? I will admit there were some but not to this extreme level?

I think that’s true only if you conflate anti-Zionism with anti-semitism. Lots of the “anti-Semites” on the left are Jewish.

The problem with antisemitism is that the term incorporates everything and nothing including regarding Seth Rogan as a theatrical hack.

It just sickens me that when looking in the horrors of the past we still seem to have such hatred for Jewish people in these times’’’

I don’t think it’s antisemitic to point out that there is more than enough hatred to go around.

Why would you protest the government if the government was already in agreement with you?

I was talking about attacks/damage to mosques or muslim centers, attacking muslim students on campus, that type of thing.

I’m not sure what your point is.

My question is are there a lot of non Muslim liberals doing the protesting, or is it mostly Muslims? The narrative is that the far left is anti semitic. I’m just trying to flesh that out. If you have a bunch of Muslim groups protesting Israel I don’t know if that is really “the left”.

Oklahoma started the thread about the antisemitism on college campuses. And I get that. It’s been surprising and disappointing. But do you guys really want to act as tho antisemitism is some kind of woke left wing thing? That doesn’t exactly work, does it?

and, yes, musk agreeing that Jews have been pushing hatred against whites is not excused with “but the left …”

There’s a lot of views and politics, some of them bad, that are being incorrectly labeled as anti semitism

    - those who question Israel’s tactics against Gaza civilians are labeled anti semitists they don’t apply the same criteria to the US and other countries. That may qualify as hypocrisy but not necessarily antisemitism.

    - those who exhibit anything less than full throated support for Israel get labeled as antisemitists.

    - those on the right, like Elon, who are asserting that left leaning Jewish groups that have supported far left causes, and the resulting in supporting groups who actually end up hostile to Jewish or even whites. That may be exaggerated and convoluted but it isn’t necessarily antisemitic.
