Some of the hostages are American citizens. We should be going in and rescuing them ourselves and not waiting on Israel. This is just like when Carter was inept and couldn’t get the Iranian hostages released. Amazing how they were released the day that Reagan took office. If they are still being held in Jan 2025, I could see a similar situation occurring when President Trump is sworn in.

 

The only reason the hostages are still being held is because Bibi wants to stay in power, because he's toast the second the war ends. Israel is the obstacle, and us kissing Bibi's ass does nothing for the hostages. His government has been the obstacle to any deal.

Who is paying for it, and who in their right mind is in charge of allowing it to happen? Who pays for all the cops needed to protect property and the general public from these rioters?

Ah, well that's an important caveat. Very few Americans care about Israel, let alone American Jews. Why should they? Is a weird place that has no real cultural or economic value to us lol. Its something we have to take care of because WWII or something I guess. Is funny to me to see people on the right that really have no investment in the post-WWII international order talking about Israel so reverently.

 

Let's see, he should see Trump and dare the Dems to mention the Logan Act... especially when Biden has essentially forfeited his duties in the office of the presidency.

 

If you were looking for Anti-Semitic behavior, telling Jewish people in the US that they should have dual loyalty is...well, it is an interesting version of it.

Carter tried to rescue them, but the mission failed. Reagan "got them out" because the Mullahs are morons and wanted to make Carter look bad (not realizing Reagan would be far worse from their perspective than Carter). Yeah, it was so "amazing". Like, there wasn't a single person at the time - including Reagan - who didn't see their dumb motives for what they were.

But, yeah, nice fairy tale there. Maybe I'll hit you up the next time I have trouble falling asleep.

 

American Jew here. Not a supporter of Netanyahu. He's a hawk, always been a hawk, and will forever be a hawk. There is no chance of any lasting peace with Netanyahu in charge. Golda Meir famously said there will be peace when Palestinians love their children more than they hate Jewish children. With Netanyahu, the hate of the other's children flows both ways.

With that said, you can still support a country while not liking its leader. Israel has the right to defend herself. But that defense shouldn't come with tens of thousand of civilian Palestinian deaths. Always seems to happen, however, which only fuels the hate the Palestinians have for the Jews.

 

This is why I root for Civil War dude. These people are just beyond the pale.
