Anthony Richardson should be the #1 pick in the NFL draft...

Damn... I don't really know. That team needs a good QB1 for at lest two more years, but spending a #1 pick over all on a two year project is very dangerous.

If they can let him wait, then I say yes. But if they need a plug and play QB1 right now then I would not pull the trigger on him as he is right now.

I would take Trevor Lawrence straight out of college given any opportunity but I don’t see Trevor Lawrence.

Should be Stroud or Young… not a knock on AR or Levis, but you don’t trade to 1 for projects.

if it wouldn’t for the size it would easily be Young…. I don’t trust OSU QB’s.. the history is not on their side.

I would have kept Sam Darnold and traded up next year for Caleb Williams.. jmo

Thank you for your reply Rick. I watched the pro day combine stuff in Gainesville. I really like Anthony. he cuts a very impressive figure. is well spoken and represents the UF very well.
Regrettably his NFL draft status has become a bit of a point of contention among some posters. I will admit posting my personal dissapointment with his and the teams performance the last two years. Interestingly the NFL guys like to mention he really only started 11 or so games (including CBN).

For the record, I 100% hope the young man is drafted at or near the top of the first round and wish a fellow Gator great success.

    First 3 years in Dan Mullen’s offense….
Considering how much Mullen liked running his quarterback it’s surprising that after 3 years of Mullen, AR was still so reluctant to take the obvious 1st down run and instead opted to throw deep.

Things that make you go hmmm

Look what a freshman in Drake Maye did -- he's a freshman.
his season was night and day compared to ARs.

Yeah, but a lot different competition. It’s one thing to go up against Duke, N.C. state and Georgia tech and another going up against Tenn, lsu and Georgia.

I’d guess he knew he needed to show development in the pocket to raise his draft stock but he is getting drafted very high anyway.

That’s my guess too. And that’s also putting yourself ahead of team - when you’re losing a game and don’t do everything you can to win. As Rick pointed out, after 3 years training as a dual-threat QB under Mullen, you know he saw the same opportunities to move the chains with his feet that we did.

I thought AR was only here for 3 years...
If so that would be 2 years under Mullen, and 1 under CBN.

Everyone keeps saying he had 3 years under Mullen. That is not right.

From Mitch Trubisky to Sam Howell to now Drake Maye, UNC has done a great job developing their QBs recently. Salute to UNC for knowing how to make their QBs comfortable and put them in a position to succeed. Also doesn't hurt that he's facing ACC defenses every Saturday.

    Hooker is a stud

Stroud is a Buckeye and can’t be trusted at the next level.

Bryce Young was the best QB in college football and should be the number 1 pick… size is overrated in this day and age.
