I read multiple sources that said he nailed the interviews at the combine and when he's met with teams outside the combine.

If that's true, I'm not sure this letter helps anything. I think you could make the case that there are several statements that could be concerning.

I wish AR the best in his career. If I were a GM, he's a 2nd round pick on my board, but, that's probably why I'm just a schlub sitting at a desk all day.

See below. A lot of character assassination… of calling him a quitter, not being a team player, not playing hurt, no trust, losing didn’t bug him etc. Which is absurd. There is zero evidence of it. Imagine the response if someone said that about Tebow. He did quit football didn’t he?

Then toss in people who are extremely misinformed on his performance. He was inconsistent but ended up being around the 30-40th best D1 QB.

This is just this thread. Check out the others.

AR was statistically our 2nd best (behind Trask) QB since Tebow. And it’s not even remotely close to that. Yet he gets more hate than Treon Harris.

The objective truth is AR was a good QB that the NFL wants to draft high due to potential. I know we all wish he achieved that potential here…. But how exactly is that his fault the NFL is drafting him on potential? To justify the discrepancy people are looking into character flaws that have zero evidence of existing. It’s just wrong

The last 12 years our team is littered with better NFL guys than college. Why does AR get the “didn’t try in college treatment” yet none of the others do?

I saw Tim Tebow many times at BHG stadium 2006-9, watched him at Empower Field in '10 and
was even lucky enough to met him in 21 in Jacksonville. Sorry but AR is no Tim Tebow.

Yeah a lot of fans on here make it a point to remind us of this, over and over again. Whenever AR does/says/writes something fans don’t approve of they say “Tim Tebow would’ve dove headfirst for that first down” or “Tim Tebow would’ve played in that bowl game” or “Tim Tebow would be hyping up his team on the sideline, not just calmly sitting there” or “Tim Tebow would’ve never written an article like this” etc. Like, ok we get the picture, AR isn’t Tebow, a lot of QBs aren’t. Lets move on.

“Opting out” of his last game is not an example of quitting on his team? I think you’ll have to do some equivocating on that one.

Did you post about Pitts and Toney quitting on the team 2 years ago?

I didn’t say he was like Tebow. I said if people questioned Tebows character they’d get hammered… yet it’s ok to crush ARs character.

And based on the flimsy arguments against AR you can make just as flimsy against Tim. Team winning was not Tebows #1 priority… his faith is. Instead of switching positions he decided to retire.

Im not criticizing Tim over that… just pointing out its equally stupid to get upset that AR told the NFL his dream was to get to the NFL

And they opted out of a far more important game than the lawnmower Cheezit bowl. Plus you have guys like Franks and Driskel who transferred. Just wild double standards

More or less. More about Marco Wilson. Less about Kyle Pitts, since he was legitimately injured. I’ll tell you who I didn’t post it about two years ago: Kyle Trask.

At least matt is consistent in his defense AR including the same basic talking points.

You are entirely missing at least my point as illustrated by this last question. I am only addressing whether AR should be the top pick (or top 5) in the draft. I’d gladly draft him late first or second round. Call that hate but it’s just my opinion. Seems pretty good for the 40th best statistical qb in D1.

No other player you mentioned was a potential top pick. We’re Marco one I’d sure have raised questions. Tebow? Yes - would his talent set translate. But stoked you’re sold on AR and hope you are correct. I think I’m rationally analyzing this without prejudice but obviously some disagree and I can see their perspective.

"One good thing will come out of this draft: You will never see any poster on this entire site talk about
AR LESS than I will the rest of this month and you will never see someone care less about what number AR gets drafted."

I just want to skip ahead to 5/1/23, because AR's draft status, info, and speculation is so

    T I R E D!!!!

So if we limit your absurd comparison to collegiate performance only, as that is the only objective comparison i refer you to THE SPEACH made by Tim. The similarities end with both players playing the same position at UF.

Most of those are just honest assessments. You don’t have to praise the guy, reality is ok too. 30-40th is not good.

Trask was injured at the very end of SEC championship game when he was giving everything he had to win it. I don't think he was healthy for the bowl game.

Was trask discussed as a top 5 draft pick? Nobody is arguing that AR shouldn’t be drafted. The question I see is whether he is a top pick. Trask was picked 64th in round 2! Nobody says anything about AR if he is picked there. The context is AR as the top pick, not AR as any draft pick.

Trask showed up for his team when a lot of other players didn’t, including — no names — one particular selfish, undisciplined human being who had already cost his team a win earlier in the season. I have nothing but respect for Trask.
