He was a self proclaimed socialist so I’m going to take him at his word. He was a fascist who utilized tactics of both the of the left and right ideologies as he deemed useful. Very much like many people on this board. He used the power of government to silence his critics straight from the communist playbook. He also had obsessions with race and religion that would have made made many modern Islamic fascists blush. One thing that he was not was a personal freedom advocate just like both modern parties in the US.
