Then be prepared for this to be a common occurrence. No consequences means we will get squeezed every time. At this point why even have a letter of intent?

 

I’ve been saying the same for a while. Nobody is held accountable for anything anymore. We have released others and I don’t know of any school that’s fought it yet. It may have happened elsewhere, but I surely haven’t seen it, and I think it’s something we would have heard about.

 

How strange that some, or many, Gator fans assume that UF is the Villain.

I predict that NIL will kill college football. As was predictable.
Lots of traps in the minefield it is creating.

I wonder how the Oline will feel about busting their butts to protect a kid who is making six or seven figures? Will be the going price for a premier left tackle be commensurate? Wide receiver? Running back?

Are player's unions next?

What is the relationship going to be between an unproven prima donna just out of high school and the man coaching him for less pay? Who's the boss, here? Dare a coach bench one who isn't performing? Cut his pay?

Will authentic college students, worrying about such things as actual classes, and student debt be excited about rooting for minor league pros who pretend to represent their university, until they transfer or move on to even higher paying jobs?

Will Professors dare grade these plutocrats fairly? Well, that is already a legitimate question.

Will the "Chosen" take a salary cut when they sign a rookie contract with the pros? Or will the pros compete with the colleges on pay?

Many of these are not new questions; but NIL brings them into sharper focus.

By the way, the Gators still have quarterbacks. Probably pretty good ones.

 

Funny years ago schools would not release guys. Particularly if they were considering going to in conference schools

I agree. Isn’t he the only one with an actual agent? Who else is going to negotiate with this kid with chance of him pulling the rug out from under them.

Honestly, I think this makes him look just as bad as some here think it makes UF look bad.

 

Honestly who cares at this point? if it's this much hassle to just get him in school then he probably hits the portal 4 games in next year.

Echo another post above, if UF isn't planning to play the game the way it is now then let us know.

Lots of drama for a kid that has not even enrolled. Has one of these situations EVER worked out for us in the long run? I cannot think of one.

 

I'm just going to walk away from all this mess for a while. I'll check back in next game week.
