It's not my money but somehow the other schools are able to spend what they need on football while also fielding the rest of their sports teams. This seems to be more of a UF problem than an everyone problem.

I received some clarification on this in another post. JTM officially represents Rashada. Heitner works with both the entity that shall not be named, and JTM.

How it becomes an everyone problem is there’s no cap and buying championships is nothing the field wants to watch.

I give a crap about players who give a crap about the school they're attending and playing for. We have plenty of examples of that kind of player. I couldn't give a crap about the ones who haven't proven a damn thing and want to be paid like a pro, nor the jock-sniffing losers willing to fork up millions to pay them. We have a perfect example of a workable system in baseball but eschewed that for this unworkable, wild-west, free for all.

Of course it doesn't because you choose to use selective reasoning. "I don't care about all the facts, I just want to focus on the singular one I'm obsessed with." That's pretty much what you just said.

You’re never going to be able to cap NIL money, and it’s not going to go away even if you implement a system with contracts, salaries, and salary caps funded by the schools. The system is already in place to bypass all of that.

Contracts make nil irrelevant as to pkaying hopscotch with teams. Nil is unlimited in the nfl too but you can’t just jump ship.

Baseball doesn’t produce a 100 million for UF. Tebow would have gotten paid straight out of highschool too. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t put his health on the line for his brothers.

Your baseball system is out the window if MLB decides it to be.

It’s still going to be a problem with the hs kids. You don’t see that as an equal issue, but I do. The kid who has all our fans in a tissy right now isn’t playing portal hopscotch.

But at least teams can keep them. If Rashada threw for 3000 yards and 45 tds, we’d have to give him 10 mil a year to get him to stay.

I like most of your ideas. I don’t see real ways to implement most of them, but I like most of your ideas.

Football under the same system would. Maybe more given all the people falling off the train in the wake of NIL. And are you really comparing Tebow to this clown? Tebow, Wuerffel, even guys like Bennett are a different cut. Tebow certainly wouldn't have shopped himself around, committed, decommitted, committed, decommitted, etc. while trying to leverage for a better deal.

    Dude, just stop.

So lets just go with a full professional system, all the way down to youth. That's how they do it overseas in Soccer. Set up academies and the works (and put IMG out of business while we're at it). Sign our superstars at 10yo (like David Beckham and all the rest) and develop them through our system. They can still sign with whomever they want at 18yo, but most stay with the home club.

That’s assuming Rashada is strong arming us for more money. If that’s so, tell him to kick rocks and take our lumps. Maybe lawyers are trying to eat this kid. How do you automatic assume it’s on the kid. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. I don’t have enough info to vilify anyone just yet. When I know more, I’ll have an opinion.

"Going" to lose interest? Dude, it's happening as we speak. I can't even put a number on the amount of people I've talked to who don't even watch college football as a product anymore. The Gators? Yes. The rest? No.

I watched the last 2 minutes of the UGA/OSU game and that's it for the playoffs and pretty much the entire season. Did watch all the Gator games though.
