I guess he can claim that he's a victim of "the Deep State" and the corrupt FBI. A certain politician routinely makes that accusation. On a more serious note it scares that hell out of me that he was able to get away with it for decades not unlike Ana Montes although I guess there is a difference between promoting the interests of a potential adversary and actually committing espionage on behalf of that government.

He may very well have committed espionage; just not enough to charge him since there is no evidence (yet) of his taking money.

I was hoping for Ana De Armas but got Manuel Rocha instead.

When I read the OP, first thing that came to my my mind was:

“Raw imma give it to ya, with no trivia, we like cocaine straight from Bolivia”

It was refreshing to see a movie that portrays American sponsored anti-Castro terrorism.

Was mainly referring to the lovely Ms. DeArmas, but yes, we have embraced a man that took down a civilian airliner in service of the cause. Orlando Bosch. That wasn’t “terrorism” - he was part of “us”.

If I recall the movie depicts the attack on Cuban hotels and the plotting to use explosives

Yes, there was that too. And it did happen. Much like IRA violence, we never got worked up over what simply seen as “resistance”

Have you ever seen Carlos? Its by the same director, and stars one of the actors in WASP as Carlos the Jackal. Its really interesting, 3 pt miniseries. Its shocking how easy terrorism was in the 70s haha.

First I’ve heard but looks interesting. Only on AMC Plus now, which we let lapse. Will keep an eye out for
