He is (or should I say was) a massive massive chunk and a particular thorn in our ass in recruiting.

 

So the HOLES are having this big recruiting jump. It seems even in the days of NIL they have found a way to cheat. They are "paying" cruits just to "consider them" before announcing, or apparantly befor visiting. According to the Hightop Sports Podcast of yesterday. (Sheldon or Shelton)

Supposedly they are (were) paying some un-committed kid and then a check didn't show up and the kid made a public statement
about it.

And I thought the construction business was dirty..........HA!

 

Can't speak for you folks, some just attribute whats going on as "evolution", but it seems every day there is some new kick in the teeth relating to the sport we love.

It sucks to confront the reality (what little we know or understand).

Yes I know it has never been some "clean-pristine" thing, especially in recruiting, but it's discouraging how many bottom feeders seem to be controlling the narrative now.

Just for the record, I have no beef with players getting paid. I just think its a bit unfair to put piles of cash in front of UNPROVEN (5 stars) while the 2,3 and low 4 star guys get beenie weenie compensation.

Yea, if you read that The Athletic article interviewing all the HS coaches, it’s been tougher for the lower rated guys because of the transfer portal. They don’t have quite the same opportunities as they did in the past.

This reminds me of Miami... how often when a 5* star recruit from the state of Florida does Miami go straight to the top if the recruits list of schools. I haven paid attention to that lately, but it was no coincidence, IMHO.

 

Not only did they get caught trying to cheat with a loose-lipped teenage recruit, they also apparently reneged on the payoff that was supposed to be made for the most pitiful frickin' reason imaginable. I mean, just how unbelievably pathetic is "We'll give you money under the table son, if you'll at least consider the slim possibility that you will entertain the minute chance that you might be goofy enough to come to the SOW for a visit maybe. At least drop by to check out the FAMU women if nothing else." What a bunch of maroons...

 

I guess there’s smoke about Mincey leaning Miami . We shall see

Is UF really a contender for Ross? I thought Tenn leads for his commitment.

 

Don't think UF is pushing hard for him. We're in pretty good shape at his position and the coaches aren't as enamored of him as the "experts" are. Need an OL, another DB, McCray and maybe an outside WR. Anyone else will be a plus-1.
