How do you think Putin's come to be? Evil dudes just pop up to do bad things? Or were they humiliated in the game of dominance, and then decided they needed a guy who could dominate to restore their national psychology? I don’t even consider Trump all that strong on defense actually because he’s too easily manipulated. I don’t blame people for attacking us either. It makes sense. It doesn’t mean i root for them. Regardless, i don’t see your point. At no point in human history have there been altruistic societies or nations that long survived. Maybe there is a Star Trek utopian future out there but it’s not now and pretending otherwise doesn’t accomplish anything.

 

No empire has survived either, so what is your point? All the countries that have done the things you say are normal havent survived either, especially the ones that have gone balls out in pursuit of domination.

 

Listen you’re casting quite a few stones here while living in a glass house. Unless you are posting here as a citizen of a non-western country that is on the raw deal end of US hegemony I really don’t understand what you’re posturing about. Yes the U.S. is potentially no different from any other empire that has ever existed. Also maybe things are different now because of technology. I don’t know it’s an interesting thing to debate. Also no nation has ever had the geographical advantages the U.S. has. Lots to debate about U.S. hegemony and potential futures. But assuming those who favor military superiority is somehow simple minded or wrongheaded is not supported by literally thousands of years of human history. Is it cruel and terrible? Yeah. No argument. If I could design it myself I’d use US might to make the world a better place where everyone could feel free and safe but alas there appears to be too much greed in the system for that to be possible for everyone, even within the U.S. it all sucks idk what else to say.
