Just listening to this podcast episode about the fact that the Pakistani government is ordering the deportation back to Afghanistan of all undocumented Afghans. It's estimated to be over 1.3 million, based upon the fact that Afghanistan has been in almost a continuous state of war since the 1980s, with numerous ethnic disputes as well as Taliban persecution of women. Notably, Pakistan has not been a non-actor in those events, although we have no grounds to criticize. Many don't even have any place to return to or documentation. It sounds horrific.
