That said…this issue is hard for me to not be put in the box.

Science and Medicine make it crystal clear. At conception each of our lives began as a zygote. We had our own DNA separate from our mother and father. We had our own 46 chromosomes (yes there are circumstances that is not the case) separate from our mother and father. We were our own Life.

It is really hard to justify the killing on a created Life just because the mother/father/both/parents/whomever do not want that baby to be born. I can’t get there. I know that my position and the way I present it on this forum can lack sensitivity. But this is not a forum talking to a woman who just conceived a child. It is a forum on politics. And ideas. And the reality most understand this is an evil act as @AzCatFan said. It is hard to try and be sensitive to the idea we should look the other way.

I tagged AZ because I really do appreciate his disagreement with me on this subject. We are both convicted by our positions. And hope he will see his understanding that the procedure is evil and should not be legal for convenience.

 

Good example of the last time the southern states wanted to enslave a group of people. Now they want to enslave a woman’s womb. Learn from your mistakes rebel.

 

It’s true. Slave owners were the pro-choicers of there day. It’s a point that Ken Burns brought out in his documentary.

"The regulation of abortion, including a complete prohibition of the procedure should be a state option."

 

Woman and doctor = slave owner and slave trader.

 

I guess the analogy would be valid in those situations in which the slave is one hundred percent biologically dependent on the slave owner for its continued survival and in certain cases the continued existence of the slave could threaten the health or life of the slave owner.

 

Just because you, me, or anyone think something is evil does not mean I should be illegal. Some people think driving is evil. Should they try and make it illegal? Many people did, and still think alcohol is evil. And look what happened when it was made illegal.

Did people stop drinking? No. All that happened was a creation of a large black market, that gave rise to large, gangster criminal organizations. We learned that even though for some, drinking is evil, it's much better to keep it legal and work on minimizing the evil effects.

When it comes to abortion, all evidence from many other countries, plus our own history with septic wards should tell us outlawing abortion doesn't work. That same evidence shows a rise in suicide attempts in young women, and a rise in bad reproductive health outcomes for all women of birthing age, stemming from black market abortion attempts. If outlawing abortion is the cure, then it's worse than the disease.

If the goal is to reduce abortions to only those medically necessary, then we must stop demand for abortion. This is done by reducing unwanted pregnancies, which is accomplished by sex education and easy access to birth control. If all pro-life people actually supported programs that were actually effective, we would see a decrease in abortions. But too many pro-lifers would rather talk about evil, and virtue signal, instead of actually help solve the problem.

 

Allow me to add...all of us guys should really look in the mirror and accept that we are a very pivotal part of the process of pregnancy. We are the first to run away when our girlfriends announce their unplanned debacle. We are mostly hesitant to financially support the baby also. We are mostly irresponsibly young when the oops happens.
In other words, women are the ones saddled with the birth and live with the consequences. Men don't belong in the abortion conversation period. Women should decide.

 

I would also add and while it's not an absolute a significant percentage of prolifers are puritans who oppose comprehensive sex education and easy access to contraception. To a lot of them the only really permissible form of contraception is abstinence and similarly the only permissible form of sex education is that which preaches abstinence only.

 

We should support birth control. We should support adoption. We should support life.

We should not allow killing of the most innocent for convenience.

 

Not only a ridiculous excuse. But tell this to the father who looked forward to the birth of their child and life they created to only have their child killed via abortion.

We can come up with all sorts of examples. But the one thing everyone pretty much agrees on. Abortion is evil and wrong. For some reason people want to find excuses for legally allowing the most innocent to be killed legally for convenience.

Clearly. Some think it is okay to legally kill an innocent life for convenience. Something I cannot agree with. Shoot there are times the father wants the mother to kill the child because he does not want to deal with the consequences and the mother does not. Just like there are times the mother wants to kill the child and the father does not.

We all know what science and medicine show us. And as we have seen even those who support legally killing the most innocent…understand it is evil. Because of what science and medicine show us and our unique place in life.

 

Only evil in your head. I don't miss a wink of sleep over it.

Maybe you should start adopting... What am I saying, you wouldn't. You rather just force others to obey your beliefs.

 

I call bull..and I call ignorance. What world do you live in? We are animals of the best kind. We accept bombing of our enemies and excuse deaths of innocent humans. We excuse gun deaths. Do Not play the idiotic religious game. You are a member of a culture that justifies real human loss of v life. Hypocrisy at its best.

I accept abortion as a rel human need. I do not accept tv watching war mongers or Christian aholes as experts of human life.

The father. I was that Father. My arrogance. My ego was set aside because I knew my eventual first wife was not in the a position to support a baby. Don't be so condescending in this world...you will find yourself sadly wrong.

 

You are a faker. Do you believe in the death sentence. Do you believe in the Stand Your Ground Do you think other countries values aren't yours?

I know the answer. No need to lie. The image in the mirror will cause you pain.

 

This such a heartbreaking read. You don’t even believe what you write.

Your ego and arrogance is so big you try play the victim card for men. Yet you are the man who ran. The man who instead of stepping to the plate for his child advised in having the life of that child taken. And blame it on the mother for not being in position to take care of the child. Not yourself.

I hope you understand how pivotal it is for the man when it comes to pregnancy. Because based on this you have no clue or had no clue.

Now maybe I am misreading. But this is what appears to be the case.
