Those 7,000 incidents of illegal activity lead to people being charged with crimes they didn’t commit or being overcharged, ruining their lives forever with no justice being served. Since you want to say that every policeman isn’t corrupt, well then every media member isn’t corrupt and neither is every politician. Either admit the police are corrupt or if you’re going to say “well only a few” then apply that same excuse to media members. Try again, you’re almost there!

Because I dont trust the media, you must be the 11% who do. They tell you to jump and you say how high, sheeple.

Seems that the 50-year old strategy of the right going back to Spiro Agnew and Pat Buchanan discrediting the media is really paying off. The campaign really went on steroids with the rise of right-wing radio and Fox News. In one of the threads on Trump's support within the Republican Party and his effective use of the big lie I quoted Joseph Goebbels and the theory of the big lie (see below):
Goebbels said the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie. That's no longer the case. When a certain segment of the population has been conditioned to disbelieve the media they will deny the truth even when it's presented before them. Trust in the media may be at an all time and it's really sad for the truth. If distrust in the media was comparable in 1973 and 1974 to what it is today Richard Nixon probably would have served a full second term.

I doubt anyone is surprised or ever really believed you, but still.
Debunking your own lies takes a special kind of genius.

I didn't say there were 7,000 incidents, I said you would be hard pressed to find 7,000 incidents. Guess I'll use your favorite word here stop deflecting.

Oh and your 1st sentence sounds like you have read about all the Jan 6th witch hunt going on the past few months.

    Which media? Which politicians?
Are you suggesting we - all citizens - should not focus on the few bad apples? No one here is against all cops. Most of us value and respect them. If I remember correctly - and I may be confusing you with another poster with the same mindset as yours - you came out right after the George Floyd incident and blamed him and defended the cop.

There are those who always criticize the cops and those who always defend them. They are the knee-jerk ideologues. You're one of them. Most of us are in the middle judging each case on the facts as they develop....and revising our opinions accordingly.

Cable media! That's the problem: the younger generations are fixated on their devices, social media, and cable echo chamber(s) reflecting their biases. Fewer and fewer people are paying attention to traditional main stream media and reading widely. The Washington Post leans left editorially, the Wall Street Journal right, but both are in the moderate channel where we all should be. Fox and MSNBC are outside the channel and bumping up against the shoals, which are literally shallow water. Those who primarily form their opinions based upon what they watch on those cable channels are doing themselves and the nation a disservice.

I'm willing to bet there are 7,000+ incidents of corruption in police departments across America, since I live in reality and you live in fantasyland.

Politicians, media and police. All corrupt. Say it with me!

Go back to Coop's post #18. This entire line of posts between me and him goes back to one dumb statement. Coop insinuates that the right only focuses on how bad the media is. I answer with the fact that most of us on the right consider media & politicians both as being untrustworthy. Then I go on to tell him that for the most part I stand behind the police. Coop deflects to his standard statement about deflection.

Without enough examples to justify such a statement, it has no credibility whatsoever. It’s just a right wing dog whistle. Moreover, if the media is untrustworthy, I assume you don’t consult it and, thus, have no facts upon which to base any opinion.

I re-read #18. I think he’s right, but it’s enough of a nothing-burger post in the scheme of things to not get all riled up about.

When a person with power over us and a gun and badge to back it up kills a citizen where it’s initially unclear (usually from MSM reporting, I would pointedly note) whether it was justified, no one should come out with an opinion, like I think you did in the Floyd case and seem to do in most cases. I agree that some of us immediately criticize the cops, and that’s as wrong as immediately defending them. I also agree cops are entitled to the benefit of the doubt considering the nature and danger of what they do. The vast majority serve us well, and I doubt any but the very worst feel good about killing someone. My point: we shouldn’t knee-jerk with an opinion until the facts are out, and, where a black person is the victim, we must make sure race doesn’t enter into our ultimate opinion. (It sure did for some in the Floyd and Georgia cases, the thrust of some posts being the victim asked for it.)

*Except for the media and politicians that you do. The OP is a literal illustration of this.
