Newspapers down to 16%, News media down to 11%. Gee, I wonder why lol.

When media is reporting on media being untrustworthy, one can only trust the media source telling you the other media is untrustworthy.

Also news media consumers: "I don't trust the news" [turns on the news]

Here's a looney thought: they only show you what you wanna watch / read. Stop consuming the garbage rather than complain about it.

Everyone complains about it yet Everyone watches it. Can't tell you how many times I argue against partisan news and opinion shows yet the same people nodding their heads in agreement are posting news pieces and political memes on social media shortly after. They can't help themselves.

Probably both sides are working together to tank the poll … the people who only trust fox and newsmax and OAN say “no” to that question because they don’t trust CNN and networks…. The people who trust CNN and networks say no because they don’t trust Fox and the like…

They all have something to offer but you have to use your own brain sometimes and figure out when you are getting spin… and they all do it. The OP link is Fox News trying to spin it into “it’s MSNBC they don’t trust, not us”…

I’ve heard trust in the press is at an all time high in North Korea.

Define "news media." I suggest it makes up a very small % of "media."

I get what you're saying, but the key here is that even "Independents" have a single digit confidence in television media and only 12% in newspaper media. Here's the link to gallup itself to (hopefully) sift out the agendas from it.

Yeah, not surprising. Everyone thinks THAT media is dishonest. Especially the ones who choose to believe the ones that defend themselves by stating no reasonable person would take them seriously.

This seems to be like politicians. People may hate the other guy but like their guy - or at least keep voting most of the same folks back into office.

But they’re also right. They have even fewer pet sources than partisans.

Is that a typo? I'm not sure I understood what you meant by "even few pet sources". Serious question.

R’s pet sources are Fox, OAN, Gateway Pundit, etc.

D’s pet sources are MSNBC, Slate, Huff Po, etc.

Most businesses (successful ones) have a target demo and tailor their product accordingly, in search of consumer loyalty.

Non-partisans have very few suppliers (pet sources), there is no money in it.

There was indeed a typo, fixed, thanks.

Ah! ok, the grammar threw me (you meant "fewer pet sources"). Sorry, it's been a long day. Carry on!

The media, police and politicians are all equally untrustworthy entities, but notice how one contingent only focuses on how bad the media is? Interesting.
