I’ll agree with this.. and add I don’t think we need perfection.. will never find it. But the real issue is that both sides will continue to divide and conquer… they won’t dare run an Edwards ( whom I like) or a Charlie Baker.. not as familiar with him.

Then stop making most votes worthless. Get rid of gerrymandering (which means that many people are in districts that aren't competitive). Get rid of the electoral college (which makes most votes almost completely worthless and neither party competes for the votes of most people). But I also know full well that won't happen, because so much of the country fears having the same influence as a person in New York City rather than considerably more influence.

I will agree, but it is all self inflicted. This is what people want. It’s like eating 5 angry whoppers a day and a full package of Oreos for a week and then blaming food company executives because you feel like shit.

They watch self selected media that tells them the world will end unless their tribe wins. When they don’t they feel “worn down and tired”.

As to all those issues, there have always been lots of issues. The difference is now with the 24 news / social media complex we all live all of these issues all of the time.

You certainly equated Biden's lying to Trump's lying. You said Biden lies "every time" and you said Trump lies "every time". How is that different?

I agree that many voters are very tired of the nastiness and the strident, uncompromising partisanship. That said, under Biden, the Dems have managed to pass key bipartisan legislation, including infrastructure and gun regulation bills. Besides Covid relief bills, what significant bipartisan bills did the GQP pass under Trump?

I don’t think it necessarily is. I thinks it’s more of a drawing a bullseye around the bullet hole going on. It’s like nostredomus, or however u spell his name.

If you can’t read the rest of the sentence and under stand that what I said about Biden and Trump are completely different…. And that I did NOT compare or equate the two… then we don’t need to have a discussion.

The system is fine as long as the will of the people isn’t disregarded by gerrymandered minorities. If the will of the people want idiots in the office, well they deserve it.

What people have definitively screamed the last 2 elections is that they are tired of the crazy and the extreme.

The GOP needs to go back to their Trojan Horses with Paul Ryan faces if they want to pass their extreme agenda nationwide unnoticed.

It may be naïve, but I still believe this single biggest action that can be taken to start to remedy this all, is strict campaign finance reform.

I do not believe the founders intended for our Gov to be bought and sold to the highest bidders in the name of “free speech”.

Get money out of politics and let the chips fall as they will.

And to the OP, no need to falsely equate Biden with Trump in your appeal for bothsiderism.

they will not remove the money voluntarily as selling the tax benefits etc is how they make their coin and all the side benefits. We need publicly funded elections supported be federally mandated airtime for each candidate that reaches a certain threshold. Want an FCC license, you agree to provide x hours of public service campaign ads that must be equally weighted to each candidate who qualifies.
