I feel like most normal Americans (not etremes on either side) are worn down and tired. Biden lies every time he is in front of a camera or microphone to pander to his base Trump lies every time he opens his mouth to pander to his ego DoJ FBI Homeland Security Local police Judges on all levels Have lost the confidence of the citizens High inflation Lockdowns Mask mandates Fire bombing rhetoric Tribalism And our politicians just keep getting richer…. I can’t think of a single politician that understands the common citizen. Not a single one that truly cares. All of the national politicians are all for one… themselves.. Red wave or blue flood… nothing really changes. Both sides will stir their base up, use rhetoric and inflaming speech, lies, all to keep a balance of the power and money. And we the people suffer. I expect both sides will attack this post. Both sides will disagree. One side is worse than the other. One side does xyz and the other side does abc… but in the end... they all suck.
This story has been repeated since the dawn of 'civilizations'. There is evidence of fighting for territory and women going back 40-50,000 years. The quest for power, money or resources appears among many species on earth. Enjoin the process or step aside.
We have all been pushed aside. There is no fight for power for the common man. We are nothing more than a workforce. The “fight” remains and will remain between the elites that let us “feel” like we have a say. I have my off grid property, away from humanity. Where no one cares who is in power or who is elected. As long as the sun rises, the garden grows and a few choice meats wander through the yard… But I have zero say in what happens. Zero part in the fight for America.
Yes, and our founding fathers saw these human traits (I.e.quest for power) as detrimental for an entire society to prosper. They set up a system of checks and balances that worked effectively. Or did. Why is it starting to fail now?
24 hour news and social media have allowed the brainwashing of America. There are few places to find reasonable discord. It's just a flamethrowing contest and the elites love it as they don't get burned. We just torch each other and in turn the world.
It’s been eroding for decades.. ever since our elected officials became professional politicians. The advent of cable news/ social media/ have sped the process up.
Germany in the 1930s vs their government today. Individual civilizations have emerged and failed over the course of history. Will the American experiment implode or will the checks and balances prevail? We certainly seem at a tipping point today.
It’s easy for me to trust corporate greed over inept government greed. The former creates jobs, stability and wealth. The latter well, not so much.
The Constitution is bad, and there is only a modicum of democracy in this country as it is. All our politics are the direct result of America's terrible system of government and the fruits of federalism, along with a capitalist economy that it protects.
