The absolute worst thing about America today is that the flag has gotten politicized as a partisan cudgel. It underlies virtually everything else we struggle with, starting with actually talking to each other respectfully. So yeah I'm pretty liberal and yeah I wrap myself in our flag. Because I love this country and the fact that you and I get to disagree about virtually everything. And if you don't like it, that's too effin bad. And my ancestors, who escaped the the Bolsheviks in Russia and the Nazis in the Holocaust, only to come to love this country and to fight (and for some to die) for the flag in WW2, Vietnam and Korea loved it as well. As will my descendants, who will proudly wrap themselves in it regardless of whatever their political beliefs are. That's the whole freaking point of being an American. I don't care what your beliefs are-the flag is as much yours as mine. And vice versa whether you think so or not. The flag isn't just your prop to wave and play alongside a country song while wallowing for the good old days. It's for everyone, whether you like their ideas or not. And it's too effin bad if you don't, but that doesn't mean you get to own it.
No interest in leaving what you repeatedly call a "shit hole country". So much potential to go snarky. But I'll keep it real. The simple fact of the matter, is that you are 100% FOS vis a vis your childish claim, only exclaim this utter foolishness to garner attention for yourself, and to express your dissatisfaction with a few SCOTUS rulings you disagree with. C'est la vie.
Just because I’m upset with the current state of affairs in this country doesn’t mean I love it any less than you do. I’m just anxious to see it change for the better. And it WILL. Now back to your titty baby belly aching.
