It's your side that's obsessed with race, and ever sowing the seeds of division by pitting race against race, and making every issue, racial or now, sexual preference, sexual identity per declaration....

Sure. Can you tell me the last time the Left tried to overthrow the government? And please don't mention some street riots over things like the murder of George Floyd. I'm talking about an attempted coup. Maybe one or two attempts have slipped my mind but you can remind me.

    Why ought I bother?

What about "attempting to overthrow the government" has anything to do with McCarthyism, other than the Government's excuse to employ McCarthyism, to shut any such effort down?

Traditionally, most Hispanics aligned with the Democrat party, while the Cubans stood alone among the Latin Americans, as mostly in the GOP camp--due mostly to JFK hanging the Cuban refugees out to dry in the Bay of Pigs invasion. Over the decades however, the % of Cubans who are R vs D has declined to like 60/40, while they've also been joined by other commie refugees like Venezuelans and Nicaraguans--and even a healthy shift of Mexicans. The Haitians were and to my knowledge, remain, largely aligned with the Dem Party (though Trump made noteworthy progress with them). So political differences, coupled with language barrier (as Haitians don't speak Spanish), competition for jobs, might all account for the gap between Cuban community and Haitian community which you point to, aside from race considerations.

There's also that special treatment afforded Cubans in terms of immigration, which has served to isolate Cubans from the rest of the immigrant communities--though Cubans still have to apply for citizenship ( and are still not qualified to run for POTUS), while Puerto Ricans do not even have this obstacle, yet do not face any such isolation--from which I infer that politics is at the core of Cubans' isolation in the manner you suggest, more than anything else.

And as a final point, while you seem inclined to define the Cuban Community by the Jorge Mas Canosa variety, I'd point out that Cubans are more inclusive on the whole than most cultures, as evidenced by the likes of Celia Cruz, Ibrahim Ferrer, Pit Bull, Jon Secada, Yandy Diaz, Randy Arozarena, among piles of others, and the fact that the term "African American", first coined by Jess Jackson (or perhaps, championed and popularized by him, if it was in any use prior thereto), was inspired by his visit to Cuba and the common use of the term "Afro Cuban" there, as African culture was and remains integral part of Cuban culture--perhaps the biggest thing that separates Cuban culture, from Spanish culture.

    fwiw.

Well, I was referring to today's (Kevin)McCarthyism, which is okay with overthrowing the government, as long as the attempt is done by a god like Trump. And today's McCarthyism wants Trump back in the White House to finish the job.

Now excuse me while I go and come up with some lyrics for "Douchebag Days Are Here Again."

Is it going to be a country, or a grunge/suicide rock tune? :monkey:

I'm not familiar with grunge/suicide, though I can see how listening to today's music could lead one to suicide. It will be to the tune of "Happy Days Are Here Again," which I'm not sure how to classify.

These dorks are always like "look at all these people who want to come here, and look at all the freedoms" and they get so mad about people coming here and 'ruining' their fake America and people using those freedoms in ways that enrage them and cause them to say "maybe you should find another country." Its like shooting fish in a barrel, they love their rage cycle, its what animates them.

I'm 'raging'... by posting on a message board?

I posted a vid. and a meme. The former seemed to buttress the later.

Don't think that qualifies as 'raging'.

Thank you for that insight. I definitely agree that I have a somewhat singular view of Cuban Americans, which obviously cannot be true. There is no homogenous population. But... I am a big fan of Cuban American culture and people regardless of my political disagreements with some members of that community.

Wrong. It's your clown car that wants to grab their AR-15s when they see non-white, non-heterosexual representations in pop culture instead of the Leave it to Beaver images with which they are comfortable.
