I made a broad response to a poster and never said anything about absenteeism. Nice change of topic. You responded to my response about being confident Florida is better off. I am responding to you as your response was/is pointless.

Change of topic. LOL. That is the topic of this thread that you responded to. If your post was supposed to be a random observation in this thread entirely disconnected from the topic of absenteeism, well, then posting a ranking doesnt in anyway show that Florida is better off after the pandemic than other states are because of what they have done.... ESPECIALLY when the #1 ranking IS COLLEGE RANKINGS not primary or secondary rankings where it is ranked BEHIND:

    US NEWS SCHOOL RANKINGS

...Derp Derp... and behind other states too of Utah, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia... this is using your data.

Who wants to tell the OP that it's doubled here in North Carolina all under the watch of a two term liberal governor?

And who also wants to tell the OP what it's like in NY, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington State? (Guess the republicans are at fault there too?)

Hint, this is a purple problem, not a red or blue one

Just as bad? Several west coast (blue) states are worse. Regardless "just as bad" isnt grounds for blaming conservatives.

You are the one that responded to my post implying Florida is better off by shutting kids out of school for a much shorter period than other states that kept kids out of school for much longer periods of time (my post to another poster not the OP). In your response you post SAT scores implying Florida is not doing better. Then in your second response to me you explicitly say should we not see higher scores. I have shown you how ignorant that take is.

I get you probably found a left wing source that ignorantly posted SAT scores and tried to say look at Florida. You really should ask why instead of assume a reason.

You've been trashed with your own US News Rankings. Please let me know how New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York handled covid closures so much more effectively than Florida that they are ranked higher?

Face it. You aint got shit to back up your opinion. Par for the course on every Covid thread you participate in.

Considering Florida was ranked 27th K-12 in 2019 and now is 14th in 2023 and being number 1 in education overall. We are crushing it.

But you keep ignorantly thinking SAT scores are the answer…

Then why reply to me? Absenteeism was a problem before the pandemic as well. The article addresses some of those reasons. I assume that you did read the entire NYTimes article.

What does my reading the article have to do with the incorrect assessment (by the OP) that this is a political issue?

Again, I’m not the OP. I never said it was a political issue, I just said that the problem is widespread among MANY school districts irrespective of their political leanings.

You probably should read the article though, it’s very interesting.

An educational system with ethics, philosophy and reasoning sounds tropical to me.

In many educational institutions there is even luck of respect between professors and students, between administations and teachers and so on.

And the development of AI is not helping too. What is the point of spending time on something, learning and so on if the machine can do it for you? Sometimes, I have such thoughts, too, and it is not only me.
