they didn't like their candidate. Kamala, nor Hillary, are likeable, relatable people what policies/positions did djt put forward other than vague concepts?
Meh. People like to believe there's a painless magic pill to fix everything, an that there's a legitimate Other to blame their/our problems on. They want and need to believe this so badly that they'll excuse astounding un-American criminality, and say that it's all......policy. Note : I didn't bother with the policies. B/c there ARE very few major differences in policies, just lies from the right about them; - open borders - defunding policy (when crime is down) - spending - cultural assault from gays and transvestites The policy differences are so small as to almost not exist, particularly with Trump. People just want to be able to blame, and have someone ELSE foot the bill.
I just finished a long (due to my limited time and resources) project rehabbing a small 100 YO house severely damaged by a hurricane. My main carpentry/drywall/painting/misc contractor is a small Hispanic businessman who I am confident is a legal resident even though he still harbors a heavy accent. I am not as confident about some of his crew, but they were the hardest working and most polite guys that I could ask for. Enjoyed a Modello or two with them on occasion at days end. I would hate for them to be rounded up to be sent back south. I don’t actually believe Trump intends to pursue that despite what he has said a hundred times. We can’t afford that from multiple angles. I think he will ensure more deportations, especially of proven gang members and criminals. Hopefully there will now be a meaningful immigration bill that allows a mechanism for workers like the guys I am familiar with to be allowed to stay. We need those guys.
Yeah. I have to own that L. I missed on that one. In fairness, I thought Biden would be a two termer easily. I never dreamed Kamala would be a last second Hail Mary by the Democrats. What a crazy year.
Yes, if only Republicans had nominated Ron DeSantis, Democrats would not be throwing a temper tantrum right now. Even if Republicans elected Nikki Haley, Democrats would be throwing a temper tantrum right now, it just may not be quite as bad.
We’re back to blaming the Russians. Lol Maybe you should blame the 1st Amendment and the right to vote. That was the true inconvenience to Kamala Harris this election.
Oh, oh. I wanna play, too. Trump is definitely herpes: random reoccurrence, ugly when active, almost everyone is embarrassed by it, and spread by too close association. Biden is hepatitis B: rather benign when kept under meds, really long lasting, and does increasing damage over time. Kamala is crabs: confined to external appearance, rather irritating, and fairly easily gotten rid of.
Why did you think that given how poorly his economy was received by the public? I think, in hindsight, he was lucky to win in 2020.
I don't think it really mattered, but it's definitely out there. The misconception, however, is that they pick sides. They don't. They fan the flames on both sides. Even the way Trump or Trump surrogates targeted Jews with one series of ads and Arab Muslims with another seems at least learned from the Russian/CCP/etc. propaganda machine (I've never seen an American candidate do anything like that before. Usually they just go all in with one or the other). So, I agree with the premise, but not with the notion that our enemies aren't trying daily to sew division in our country and have been rather successful at it.
I thought it in 2020. Thats when I first thought Trumpism was dead. Basically if Biden can beat him, then its over for him.
Some would say it was race because we chose a white woman, but at leat the whole misogyny tripe would be dead.
Lot of people - even most Rs - thought it was. Probably should have been, but D arrogance won out. Haley would have broken Reagan's 84 numbers as this was a complete rejection of that agenda.
To be fair, they're tame compared to 2016. I think the reality that their platform has been soundly rejected is hitting home. In 2016 they convinced themselves it was some outside force, but we can clearly see now that wasn't the case.
Youre the best at arguing hypotheticals. Keep it up. What else are we saying in your made up reality in your head?
House results barely changed. Senate was a crazy map. Trump thoroughly won. That isn’t some mandate but I hope you guys take it as one and mandate away. I would like the working class to get what they voted for.
Well Biden is to blame considering when he ran in 2020, after entering the contest in the last minute to oust Bernie from the party nom, he did state many times that he wanted to just be a "bridge" candidate and that he fully expected not to run for a 2nd term.
