I was looking at some box scores for this past weekend and this one really stood out to me.
This team had 13 first downs, was 3-10 on third downs, gained a grand total of 251 yards on offense. They also possessed the ball for 25:25.
They also won by four touchdowns. You’ve probably already figured out it was ND, but those stats would make most of us cringe.
Just goes to show how important turnovers are and opportunistic plays can really change the game. Other than the score, the one stat that really mattered was turnovers. SC had 5. ND had none. Just found this interesting.

In terms of the "complimentary football" that CBN talks about, the ND defense putting USC in a headlock allows for the offense to only have to score opportunistically.
