Am I the only one who thinks this wasn’t random political violence?

Not true. I watched Trump tell his audience to march peacefully and patriotically to the capitol to protest. You've seen the unedited NBC video on YouTube too. How is it you continually repeat this falsehood?

At least we know you aren't the shooter as evidenced by your presence here. :)

Stuff like that is just as dumb as this thread is. But that's just one poster and on the Biden-did-it side we have many right-wingers contributing.

When things even up insofar as the other presidential candidate being targeted for assassination, I'll give you a modicum of agreement.

That you don't see the left attacking Trump since he rode down the escalator in 2015 is your willful ignorance, not mine.

Well you should. He had about 20 posts about it. Even suggesting that the shot was a planned near miss.

FWIW he was called out about how ridiculous it was by members from both sides.

Where did I ever say that the left hasn’t attacked Trump from the word go?

I even called out the left yesterday for propagating the idea that Trump was an existential threat to democracy for the last 6 months.

Both sides need to clean up their own houses.
Call a result of “reality TV” where people tune in to watch people fight and bicker and act like assholes to each other.

Sure the left has been attacking Trump since he rode down in the escalator in 2015. In fact a number of Republican politicians did so using language just as strong as that of the left until Trump metaphorically castrated them after which they feel into lockstep behind the Dear Leader even including "Little" Marco Rubio and JD Vance, Trump's possible running mate and now the ultimate a sycophant.

Attacking a candidate based on his policies and calling for violence against him are in no way the same. In fact the former is expected in a free society. Apparently you have decided to intentionally ignore the distinction.

    Your dishonesty is breathtaking.

You know damn well that Trump spent weeks infuriating his adoring lemmings with BS LIES about the election being stolen (despite being told by his campaign and his own AG that he had LOST), summoned them to DC on the very day Congress was to certify the fair and legal election, repeated his BS LIES about the election being stolen, pointed to the Capitol and told them to "fight like hell" or they will lose their country, ignored desperate pleas from Congressional leaders to send help, and then did NOTHING for several hours as his brownshirts violently sacked the Capitol (resulting in 4 deaths and 140 injured cops), while chanting "Hang Mike Pence!"

    Shameful.

    BS.

As I have advised you in the past, read the Department of Defense and the Department of the Army reports on J6. All you are doing is spewing hate not based on facts.

Those look like KGB implants to me. The KGB was on the capitol grounds when the protest went out of control.

Breaking news: A bottle of ketchup was found under the podium where Trump was speaking. The smoking gun! Trump ducked down to put some ketchup on his ear.

    Well said.

Homeland Security oversees the Secret Service. Bennie Thompson has been head of the HS committee twice and put forth legislation to strip Trump of SS protection. Kim Cheatle (head of SS) has repeatedly turned down requests for a larger security footprint around President Trump despite knowing the catastrophic threat. She also made it a priority to make more DEI hires.

The shooter was roughly 150 yards away in a prime spot that even a low-IQ security detail would make a priority. There just were not many rooftops to protect. And then there are reports of people in attendance sharing they saw a man crawling on the roof before Trump began speaking. The fact that the sniper did not see the bad guy is outrageous.

Either this is gross incompetence, or it's something much more nefarious. And it comes at a time when one party has their backs up against the wall.

This is paywalled and my WSJ subscription has expired, but it seems the SS is disputing that additional campaign security was denied and has actually claimed that it was given “for campaign travel”, FYI.

I am sure this will come out but I wonder how large the SS detail was at the event last night. I know they said they have cooperation with state and local police. How large was the security force in total? What is normal for a candidate?
