Am I the only one who thinks this wasn’t random political violence?

Nothing like the way the media has been painting Trump.

Hell just look at some of the posts daily here.

 

It is the same way everywhere, trolls, AI, dipshats, ideologues…. Need a flow chart to keep up.
Everyone is a nut accept them.

I’m going back to Vikings of Vahalla, it was a kinder gentler time.

 

For approximately 8 years Trump has been demonized on this board by some very sad, disturbed people.

Why shouldn't Trump be demonized? Trump himself says the most dehumanizing things, calls for violence, and quotes Hitler. Doesn't mean Trump deserved to be shot at. The assassination attempt is 100% wrong. But it also doesn't absolve Trump for all the rhetoric he's said or actions he's done the last 8 years.

 

To the OP, I suspect if this was a government organized hit to be made by a rifleman at relatively close range with an open look, I don’t think Trump walks off with a grazed and bloody ear.

 

I don't think some are claiming any high ground though. There is a minority contingent here that gets criticized for claiming "both side-isms" all the time. One side just has to be worse though... It isn't about keeping score on who is a worse person but how much vitriol and hyperbole gets spewed by social media and major media. Something like this was bound to happen given the political climate the last several years.

 

I know. We even have threads claiming Biden tried to have Trump assassinated. And a bunch of nutcakes are going to believe it.

Give me a break. ….Frequent talk of civil war (which was a “truth” Trump promoted to millions of his followers), marching around with guns, bannon podcast and Repub leaders talking about the “second American Revolution” (the first one was a war), all the violence we all saw when maga stormed the capital on Jan 6th, next time we’re bringing bullets, white nationalists marching in va. - it goes on and on.

maga repeatedly ignores how this fans the flames in our country. And this whole maga general lock-and-load imagery thing is constant.

To answer the question in the thread title, no, you're not the only one. A whole bunch of right wing nut cakes are right there with you.

 

Most likely a "lone wolf" acting on his own volition. He could have been motivated primarily by politics, he could have had serious psychiatric problems or most likely a combination of the two. While the possibility of a conspiracy can never be counted out the probability of one is rather low.

 

Speaking of which I don’t seem to recall Trump offering any public well wishes to Pelosi when that happened. They want Biden to climb out of bed and send well wishes to Trump tho

 

Here's another conspiracy. A Trump supporter purposely missed the first and therfore most focused shot in order mobilize his supporters because the upcoming election was sure to be rigged and this would be the only way to overcome the deepstate.

Sounds crazy. Sadly, probably not to some....

People can make any conspiracy make sense if their minds are set on it.
