Michigan’s DL is beastly. SEVEN sacks of a highly mobile QB. Milroe was pressured or sacked nearly every time he dropped back. And Michigan wasn’t necessarily bringing the house to do it.

We will see, don't really care who wins.
And yes, Michigan D looked really good.
Loved watching Bama QB get pounded a few times.

Penix Jr. spins the ball like very few. He's as accurate as Wuerrfel, but with as arm as strong as anybody. UW also has one of the best OLines in the nation. I don't think Penix was touched all game last night except on a few runs and one or two blitzes. And Texas has a very solid D-line.

The question is can UW stop Michigan from running the ball and holding it for 35 - 40 minutes. Penix can't do anything when he's on the sideline watching the UW D try and stop Corum.

It’s funny because we all know Gator fans would be in a tizzy if UF even considered him before his Washington tenure.

Don't think we'd like this guy either before this year.

Yeah, likely so. It appears they hit gold though. Meanwhile the jury is still out here.

We are a fickle bunch still stuck in the 90s.

    But we are Florida!

I still think any of the top tier programs would do the same after our track record of failures. In fact people forget Bama was every bit as bad as Florida before Saban arrived. The internet culture and 24/7 coverage just hadn't taken hold yet. They were considered the Washington redskins/ Oakland raiders if college football because of their interfering booster culture and fanatical, entitled fan base.

I just don’t think Hall of Fame coaches are on every corner. UF was lucky to find 2 of them in a close window. In the grand scheme of UF football they’ve only really been good for a small portion. We could be reverting to the norm. Still don’t believe UF is set up to be really successful in this new landscape.

I'm with you. Just a shame our two hall of fame coaches had short shelf lives. That's the disappointment for me.

I'll never believe Bama didn't offer Saban complete control and cooperation in bending every rule to facilitate an advantage the likes we hadn't seen in decades. They knew the NCAA wouldn't be an issue going forward. That ain't happening at UF.

Yep. Saban wins a title at UF, but he doesn’t win as many as he has at Bama.

Not with the media scrutiny we had under Meyer who I think wanted to run the program the way Saban has and was closest to doing so. Not with Gainesville and university police. Not with our UAA. Not with 2 other in state rivals. I agree

It looked to me that Washington was the better team.
Texas was playing catchup the entire came and not just the score.
Seemed as though UW was much crisper on Offense and their D was giving Texas problems.

I was impressed with Michigan's Defense and the fact that Harbaugh could call some pretty good plays. The 1st Michigan TD was a thing of beauty.

I think it will be a good game and my first thought was Washington wins.
However, after a few replies to my first post I understand that Michigan could take it too.

It's gonna be a good game.
Although extremely unfamiliar with no SEC team playing!

I just watched the highlights and did not realize that Texas, after playing catch-up all night, had an excellent chance to win the game in the end.

The UW offensive coordinator called an incredible game up until the end, IMHO. UW should have run the ball or taken a knee prior to their last field goal forcing UT to use their second time out. Then, after recovering the onsides kick, let Penix scramble around in the backfield prior to taking a knee on every play. That would have been enough to end the game or very close to it meaning that UT would have had at most a couple seconds for their final drive with zero timeouts left.

But as a UW grad school alum, I'll take the win and hope for the best against a beast of a Michigan team!

I think both games ended in appropriate fashion. Michigan was better than Bama.

As West Coast said, I'm amazed at how poorly UW's game mgmt/ clock mgmt was.
I mean- these are mistakes a 2nd grader would not make.
Just a function of simple math/ probability.

    1st one
With 2.40 to go, up by 6 on 3rd down, they threw an incomplete pass.
This let Tx save a TO and risked an INT.
The main thing here is to go up by 2 scores, and a FG did that.
Why chance it, and let TX save a TO? Just idiotic.

    2nd
After recovering an onside kick UW just had to take 3 snaps...
The clock would have expired except for mistake #1, but it was ok...
All they had to do was take a knee on 3rd down and TX would have had, at most 10 seconds to go 80+ yards.

But for reason they RAN on 3rd down. The UW RB got hurt, the clock stopped, and so TX had 44 seconds to get a TD. Which they almost did.
IF you didn't stay up- TX had 3 plays from the UW red zone at the end. They just didn't convert.

Why not take a knee there?

Between the Miami/ GT blunder, and the UW decision last night to run the ball, I have to question both coaches intelligence.
I know people rag on CBN's clock mgmt, but both miami vs GT and UW last night was far worse...

    Just idiocy...
