USAID is the epicenter of the Deep State. USAID made a deal with Democrats: You let us do our thing and support us at every turn and we will let your friends get rich (per Robert Barnes).

USAID has given money to the BBC and Politico (as well as media outlets around the world). First news outlet to claim the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation? Politico

I really have no idea if USAID is guilty of fiscal wrongdoing. The manner in which this "investigation," has been conducted seems very "fruit of the poisoned tree." Stealth raids led by an extra-government agent and his loyal (and un-vetted) employees, a rush to conclusions amplified by the usual right-wing agitators...who knows what the hell is going on?

Remember the vociferous protests from the Cons when the FBI carted off secret documents from Trump's bathroom. How they howled "illegal seizure!" That raid was conducted by the FBI, with warrants, and due process. Are warrants not a thing anymore?

Shouldn't the programs funded by USAID be in line with the Administrations foreign policy goals?

If the Administration would be so good as the articulate those goals, it would be helpful. Perhaps I've missed his foreign policy masterwork, but so far the policy looks like isolationism, bully tariffs, and rid the country of undesirables. Does writing love letters to Korean dictators count as foreign policy?

Step 1 is said clarity on goals. Step 2 is to not enforce his plans with blitzkriegs that take a big, fat dump on legal procedure.

    That's a good question.

To give you an my honest answer (which actually obviously means an opinion which could be rationally considered and/or refuted), I would say; usually.

Sometimes foreign policy goals might not fluctuate on a quadrennial basis? Such as preventing AIDS in Africa? Or preventing global famine? Sometimes foreign policy goals can merely shift or change in priority without suddenly becoming bad?

What do you think? Are you pleased with Donald Trump effectively dismantling the US global foreign aid apparatus?

It will not be dismantled, it is being audited. You know damn well that there has been so much wasteful spending at USAID, and that has to stop. I'm for giving aid where needed but giving 50 million for condoms and millions for DEI around the world? and comic books and fashion show tickets, and they can't find the money to rebuild NC after the hurricane? Come on Jo.

Do you like your tax dollars going to pay for those items listed above? I think you're ok with the millions given to Politico

Can you please cite a link for this?

Or are you just saying things?

    Please stop telling lies.

Link to this? Or is it just an untrue thing you are saying?

Link to this? Or is it just an untrue thing you are saying?

Are "they" failing in NC? And is it related to global aid?

Do you have a link to this, or are you just saying things that are not true?

Pretty sure you're just lying about those things. Prove me wrong with your links?

This is news to me. USAID gave $8 million to Politico? Is that true, or a lie you are spreading?

I’d link to Fox but you’ll not look at it and all the LSM will not report on it.

A month ago when your WH press secretary spoke, you took it as gospel, so now you don’t believe the new press secretary, she is the one announcing all this frivolous spending.

Should the foreign policy goals of the USA be so partisan to require major upheaval every election? Would anyone be able to depend on us if it did?

Not even Fox lies that flagrantly.

I'd say be better, but.. ...well, we know you're just doing what Trumpers so.

It is amazing. One word from Musk and suddenly USAID became the epicenter of all that is evil in this country.
And I thought only Trump had that kind of power over the right.

You’re right, it’s up to 28 million in PoliticoPro subscriptions over the past 4 years.

    Answer one question:

I saw no protesting at the Capitol for inflation or the border crisis and now USAID is being audited and every Democrat in Washington is in front of the Capital screaming bloody murder, WHY?

USAID pays janitors ans civil servants in Ukraine. Funds newspapers. Rigs elections all over the world. My favorite so far is USAID irrigating poppies in Afghanistan. Are they supplying fertilizer too?

Interesting reply on Mike Benz's X account

USAID distributed $1.8 billion in agricultural commodities in 2024. Something tells me that American farmers aren't going to be pleased about co-President Musk's plan to shutdown the agency.
    P.L. 480 Title II
P.L. 480 Title II grants fund emergency and development food aid programs authorized under Title
II of the Food for Peace Act (P.L. 83-480). Funding for Title II is appropriated to the USDA and
is administered by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Budget provides
    $1.80 billion for P.L. 480 Title II.

By the way there already food rotting in warehouses because Musk cut the funding of contractors charged with distributing the food.
USAID upheaval is paralyzing delivery of food and medicine around the globe
Shipping containers packed with lifesaving antibiotics and antimalarial drugs are being held at the Port of Sudan, where they sit in limbo. Essential medicines are expiring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo after a cash-strapped government contractor was forced to shut off the air conditioning. Millions of pounds of American-grown soybeans that were bound for refugee camps overseas are being diverted to warehouses instead.
I'm sure our conservative friends have no problems with consequences of Trump's decision to delegate the operation of the federal government to co-President Elon Musk.
