They will compete in a tournament in Asia this summer. great experience for him. https://floridagators.com/news/2024...ex-condon-named-to-australia-select-team.aspx
I wonder if they will call him for fouls when opposing players elbow him in the face, chest, neck, and groin, like the ncaa crews did?
Getting additional coaching and playing outside your own program helps a player develop. There will be differences and it's an opportunity to pick up a few details he wouldn't have otherwise. Good on ya, mate!
Yep. He is a key piece in Gator success this season. He's already good. He might be great by the end of the season.
Alex is gonna be one bad man the next couple of years! He just started playing Bball. Loved watching him last year.
Hi Lurker, I suppose from his previous sport, he developed athletic skills that are compatible with basketball and of course his measurables. I can't wait to see what he looks like after his summer conditioning program. I don't think it's unresonable to assume the coaches put him on an aggressive body weight and strength regimen. This young man is going to be a load to handle. I see a big leap forward, and if he can refine his mid range jumper.......look out!
I have played a lot of competitive sports but none of them required the kind of footwork that low post basketball requires. The closest is the footwork needed in foil fencing but that is mostly linear. There is the esquive (a sideways dodge) and fleche attack that requires some decent footwork to avoid bodily contact. But neither is like the footwork required in the low post. And by the way I did play competitive hoops. Maybe as a youth playing what we call soccer might give him the rudiments of such skills. But at his size I suspect he wasn't a striker.
