I've never understood the protester/anti protester mindset. If you insist on protesting stay non violent and stay on your own side of the street. Alec Baldwin berated by group of anti-Israel protesters
I agree, but I need to know if you feel the same about 1/6 before I believe that you are sincere about nonviolent protesting.
I grew of age in the Vietnam war protest era. Although I sided with the protesters reasoning I disagreed with all the protests. The answer is to your question is yes I feel the same about 1/6 and people who went there with the intention of getting violent should be prosecuted. I didn't agree with the marching but would have tolerated it same as the George Floyd protests. The violence I strongly disagreed with.
Sorry but crossing as street to tell someone their career is in the toilet in a public place isn't close to "getting violent."
If you are a famous or recognizable person and you put yourself in a crowd or situation where things could get testy you deserve what you get. If you want to use your fame to promote one side or the other do it on TV or from a podium, you have no business on the street. Once you go out there to make a scene you become a common thug.
Protesting, peacefully, is what has made this country great. I will NEVER criticize peaceful protests even if I disagree with the agenda.
Alec made it his job to mock Trump on SNL so he’s got to be somewhat ok with being mocked. Better to laugh it off than be a jerk but a tiger doesn’t change his stripes.
Well we've seen what happens when he's allowed to roam freely, people get accidentally shot and movies get shut down. Perhaps its for the best.
I didn't see any violence in the clip I watched. But I've seen many clips of him over the years, and he seems to be a bit of a hot head - not that I entirely blame celebrities when the paparazzi are essentially stalking them.
I hate to agree with the "wussification of America" narrative, but the fact that anyone would equate this with violence is pretty indicative of softness. Same goes for all the campus antics where yelling at someone in public during a protest is "making them feel unsafe" and we need to hold congressional hearings about it. As some might say, people need to 'grow a pair.'
and now you’re all spun up over Baldwin. People can and should (peacefully & respectfully) march for a cause. It’s actually one of the things that makes our country great. We have influenced the world.
Yeah, putting aside the "fighting words" doctrine and true threats here for a second, I don't like the notion that offensive or insulting speech justifies violence - much less that speech equates to violence.
