Yeah, the kids nowadays realize they don’t have to play for Alabama in order to drive a new Cadillac in college
Eventually assistant coaching turnover catches up. It seems like Saban is making major replacements every year or two. I'm sure Kirby Doofus took all of Sabans tricks and secrets over to the Mutts when he left. Kirby made a statement on TV that he didn't take a player from the portal. Bama is going to be there year in and year out, but the dominance seems to be gone. Mutts and Vols both have 25 year old QB's which obviously makes a big difference in experience and maturity. I myself think CBN will stay the course and slowly build us up to where we can compete with the top teams. I don't expect Bama to roll tide opponents anymore.
25-year old QBs may be the way to hack the game. It’s like Golden getting Kyle Loften from the portal.
Kelly has always been a very good coach. The question is can he win it all or is he too milquetoast like Mark Richt where he'll never be able be better than very good.
This will be Kyle's fifth year not 6th and he is only 23 and will complete his college basketball playing career at 23...not the same.
True, but for whatever reasons- and certainly part of it is coaching- it makes dufus look like a genius. No but also in our case it looks like our staff is a bit slow to turn the ship... LSU's play caller seems to really know what he's doing, calling the right plays at the right time. Against us, they attacked that miserable 10 yards off the ball then back peddle defense. Need a strong finish to build trust with our commits and prospects.
Much easier to right the ship with a more mature team. Rarely do you have a team as young as ours grasp things as quickly as we'd like. However, Saturday it seemed they took a major step forward, albeit against a bad team. LSU has benefited from having a junior transfer at QB who, even for him, took awhile to seem to get it together to the point that LSU looks like a good team.
How young are we actually? I can't recall the number of FR/SO seeing the field but it is significant?
NIL and the Stargate. How much of a player's motivation and perseverance are now tied to things coaches can't control, not even the mighty Saban?
You volume posters are laughable. Time on-site and volume do not make you judge of all. Debate the issues like a man, rather than insulting posters.
I agree with the deviation from original thread. My point was not to engage in personal attacks, but keep it civil.
People can be excused for emotional and passionate responses on occasion. Thoughtful opinions lead to great discussions. Overly repetitive one -issue complaining serves no purpose. As you judge the poster, so the longtime members should be judged by their civility on-site.
