This is EXACTLY the problem. How a woman dresses often has ZERO to do with her sexuality and more to do with how she feels comfortable. Does she feel good about her body? Safe? Is it hot outside? Etc etc… the problem with patriarchy is that men always think it’s about them. That “women want my attention, cat calls, to be objectified” etc. when often it has NOTHING to do with them. Now, there are women who want attention- and get it from social media or in person with how they look… but even then it DOES NOT mean they want to be touched/harassed or worse.
My wife has been hit on or put in uncomfortable situations countless times… 3 times over the last year by contractors at our house. Dude, we just want you to fix our toilet… it’s not the time to shoot your shot. Just the other day in Lowe’s… followed to 3 different aisles by an employee looking to be “helpful”. It’s pretty ridiculous that men think “see pretty lady/hit on them”. With zero regard to how she feels. Learn to read a room.
And in the case of Georgia… it matters ZERO whether or not these women had been at a party/drinking/how they were dressed etc.

Some people go out of their way to miss the point I was trying to make. I was not, as another poster accused me, "justifying" rape and assault by how women dress. Do you think I blame the victims of mass shooters for getting shot? I'm sorry if you don't know that there are some sick males out there, or if, as Jack Nicholson says in A Few Good Men, "you can't handle the truth." The streets of this country are infested with sickos. And campuses are not exempt. Neither are football teams. What do you think this thread is about?

Clothes worn are never part of the cause of rape.

Not once in your replies have you said clothes worn by women are not an excuse to be raped or harassed. But you did say you can't help but think the way they dress is in some part related to the problem.

I mean, it’s never permissible to rob me. I can increase or decrease the odds of that happening to me in many ways. In other words , it’s never the girls fault or in any justified. A girl can however change her odds in many situations.

 

So you want me to believe that you don't think the way a woman is dressed, or just the way she looks, might trigger a sick male, a rapist or worse, to act on his sick impulses (on her or on someone like her). There can't be any connection. Okay. I know that poor Ted Bundy, for example, blamed it all on pornography. And I know that you as a Cat are much better educated, and more knowledgeable about life and crimes, than me as a Gator.

 

No, I don't think the girl or her outfit is at fault. Again, anytime you state that you are glazing over the fact that ultimately the guy needs to not harass, touch, or rape a girl regardless of what she is wearing, or not wearing. No excuses. Girls flash their books at Mardi Gras, Fantasy fest, Electric Carnival, etc and none of them should be touched or harassed correct? So how can anybarticle of clothing be used tonsay it tempted a guy, or caused him to do something to her?
