Our kick coverage has overall been fairly decent. And our returns are usually decent too. But that's about where it ends. We aren't superb in any facet, and often times have embarrassing procedural errors that cause a majority of the negative backlash.

Ricky did have some very nice returns Saturday. I am disappointed we haven't blocked a kick this year though. Have come close a few times, but we don't get points for "close".

    ST can definitely improve.

Good point, but sometimes stats only tell part of the story. What if I told you that Alabama (#125) was actually worse than UF (#113) in sacks allowed? Yet they are #30 in scoring offense compared to UF at #59.

Except back then, we were closer together in quality.

Not only was Shemar out, we were missing another guy up the middle in Cam Jackson and our vocal leader on the defense Tyreek Sapp. That’s a lot for a young defense without depth to recover from.

Mertz doesn’t seem to have much accuracy farther downfield even if he gets the time. That seems to me to be his one shortcoming. Lots of overthrown and underthrown balls downfield.

I'd say they played pretty well against Vandy, Charlotte, Tennessee, and Utah. They did ok against Arkansas giving up only two touchdowns in regulation, despite missing two key starters. They were terrible against Kentucky and Georgia. So, some ups, some downs.

I do believe the defensive schemes are pretty decent. Upgraded talent, depth, and experience will help them a lot next year. The offense, however, is a different story. The play calling appears to be a mishmash of plays that are seemingly selected at random. The only hope for it is to hand off play calling duties to someone else.

I just skimmed the transcripts of Napier's presser. It's becoming a bit disheartening. At this point I'm relying on blind faith and the hope that the lockeroom and recruiting class are still in full support of them. I dont expect him to say anything too meaningful but the feigned aloofness about the play in question isn't a good look and the answer "it's simple" is a condemnation itself being that it is far from the first time the special teams have been an issue.

I'm sincerely rooting for him and the program. We cannot change coaches or lose the recruiting class. The landscape is more ruthless and cutthroat than ever but he has to be better going forward even if it means saying less.

we need a new S&C coach. I’ve been saying it for a while now. Hocke has not earned his $750k salary no matter how you slice. This team stays decimated with injuries

I’ve seen PSU listed as having a good line on a couple different sites, but I’ll take your word for it.

Wow, what a terrible response to the reporter's question. He has to have better answers than that. If it's so "simple" why can't they do it?

Well they do have a bit better defense and tgat does help tge offense. Bamas offense for all that top recruiting they done should be better.

i’m just salty he isnt a Gator coach lol. They did have issues running the ball at times but they have turned it around as he’s gotten more experienced as a coach and, surprise surprise, he’s been killing it on the recruiting trail.

i think him being from up north may be hard for UF to pull him if we go looking for a new OL coach but we HAVE to try right????
