We need to draw a distinction between organic concern for social justice and the corporate PR rollout known as DEI. For instance, Kamala IS a DEI hire (and DEI probably died with her candidacy), but not because she's dumb for unqualified for the positions she's held. That's because the corporate PR rollout known as DEI is all about corporate branding and messaging and Kamala hit all the checkboxes that crowd covets. We know, based on the D primary numbers, that this was the major if not singular reason she was chosen as VP.

So she was chosen based on a checklist, one where she hit all the key boxes, and chosen by a cadre in the D party that is obsessed with these things over the typical things one looks for in a VP (State you need to win, popularity, momentum, etc.).

That said, she did the best she could possible do in this election, but she was doomed from the start, as was the D party in general. I'm not even sure the D party exists in this form moving forward. It's going to have to either go back to its roots (FDR) or just die on the vine and be replaced by something else (maybe a Macron-style middle party).

You should be ashamed for making such a comparison

I'm curious. Why did you feel the need to add "of color" in that statement? When, obviously, "unqualified and unpopular" would have sufficed fine, all while hitting the nail on the head.

    Answer: "Feels"

"I feel, based on what I hear in my MAGA bubble, that the military is a mess."

Such a Patriot running down those VOLUNTEERS. I bet he's real proud of himself too.

Why wasn't MAGA screaming about the Supreme Court nomination of Barrett? That read DEI all over it

Just following President Biden's lead. He hung the 'woman of color' tag around her neck.

Why? I mean convictions are legit, right? You could never be convicted in a court of law unless you were guilty. You know, like Trump.

Not through, because of. She wasn't any less qualified than most D's, but she was chosen as the VP because she checked the boxes the checklist crowd (Obama guys) like to see checked.

So you figure that anyone who was ever convicted of anything was actually innocent?

Yeah it's just the flip side of what he's saying. Because sometimes innocent people are found guilty, it must mean that all people who are found guilty are actually innocent.

That's why they support the death penalty, because all those people are actually innocent

What I understand is folks like you don't care much about qualifications and experience when people like Pete Hegseth are getting high-ranking positions they don't deserve. But when a qualified and experienced Black person ends up in a position of authority, it's a very different story.
