There is no limit to how low this program can go with the current powers that be.

I'm tired of readjusting my expectations downward and trying to extract something, anything positive from what's still in front of us only to have that taken away, too.

OK, 2024 is a dead letter, but DJ Lagway is exciting to watch, he'll keep us in games and we can enjoy watching him blossom into THE guy. Nope, DJ is out and an Ivy League backup is going to lead us to the slaughter today with an apparently more seasoned and talented quarterback available.

OK, we may get knocked around for now, but surely someone new is going to be brought in to try to breathe new life into the program. Nope. Billy's coming back. We already know 2025 is lost and we're hardly more than halfway through 2024.

OK, football is a wash, but the basketball team finished strong last year and there's every reason to have high hopes for a great season. Nope.

Yes. But it’s hard to judge attainable candidates based on their performance against ranked teams. Those with great records are established elite coaches UF isn’t getting (Deboer, Kirby, Day, Kelly) and then some that are sub .500 against ranked teams that people don’t want: Franklin and Riley. Then you have Norvell, Cristobal, Rhule.

Everyone wants an elite coach but you’re not going to get them because they are already entrenched at their school. So ultimately any hire is going to be based on potential. We want a Kirby, Day but because of the failed Muschamp experience no one wants a guy with no experience, no one wants a G5 coach.

Of course, it was hyperbole. Yes, I want to see Napier clapped into the sunset. No, I would not actually want to frame him for a crime to do it.

I’m guessing with the CTG situation going on, the administration wouldn’t touch Kiffy with a ten foot pole based on his prior reputation.

Watching the Texas game unfold, I’m guessing SS timed the release of his statement to precede this game. Even though we’re decimated with injuries on both sides of the line, and even though our guys are again playing their hearts out, impatient and unrealistic Gator “fans” will be screaming even louder for Billy’s head when we lose to Texas. The endorsement of Billy is probably more for the players than anyone else
