If SWAC gets Kiffin because Stricklin decided to spin the gears for an unearned and unnecessary fourth season with Napier, I’m gonna be so pissed …
If they are really keeping him, they shouldn't have stood still in the middle of the road so long. Indecision is bad every time. Usually its better to do something even if its wrong, at least move forward and correct as you go.
Hopefully Kiff said no already. It would truly duck for him to be successful at fsu. Could you imagine losing ti fsu and kiffy at the same time. Id break my tv.
I think taking that hard road gives you work ethic later in life. Always tsking the easy way out is not something i want my kids to do. But yep, i remember being runner up at best and was on a couple really bad teams. It was tough sometimes but my parents never let me quit and made me suck it up in the worst of times. Lifes a bitch so get use to it right? Sports as kids is about learning to be a teamate and working together with a goal. Quitting if you dont win or joining the puppies is for little bitch boys.
I hate Fuchs, I hate Stricklin, I hate Napier, and I hate everyone else who is content to tell us to be patient after 4 bad coaches and 14 years of bad football. Screw every one of them. Stricklin crawls out of his hole for the first time in weeks to tell us the beatings will continue until morale improves. Great.
As I posted on a different thread, either Napier will be removed because of the impending bad record or the UF powers are going to signal that the UF brand is no longer what it used to be. Either Stricklin is going to be shuffled out the door in step with Napier - still in play - or we are seeing the "Vandying" of UF football. We shall see sometime in December.
We fell behind in buying top classes a long time ago. We have been and are in the second tier of spenders.
IMO, stability at this time is very important. Going back on the 14 year coaching change carousel is akin to buying a lottery ticket and hoping it bails you out of financial difficulties. I'm hopeful CBN can keep the team engaged and playing hard, and can pick up recruiting. Giving him 27 million at this time saying adios, likely losing the team, and no surefire candidates out there would have been a recipe for disaster. Hopefully 2025 we have a much better outcome, but even if we don't we will, considering the issues with our administration, have the time to plan for corrections going forward. In the long run, if CBN doesn't turn it around, it is probably better for us to wait for a new president and clean house with a new AD and HBC.
Lol. I played on the classic rich white school team. Played against Michael Vick and Plaxico Burress. Yeah, we sucked.
What are some Gator fans going to do if we go 8-4 in 2025 and it looks like we could go 10-2 in 2026 and likely get in the playoffs? Still demand he be fired?
Power vacuum in leadership. When you look at it through that lens you kinda understand the decision. It’s just kicking the can IMO. I don’t think things lined up to make a change this season. It’s gonna be Boom or Bust with DJ. I anticipate they are going all in for 2025 and see how things play out. Unfortunately history shows coaches don’t do well after 3 losing seasons and I think Napiers ceiling is maybe 8 Ws. So we’ll be looking for a coach in 2025 and maybe the pool is better and UF has leadership in place. We shall see. EDIT: My bad, didn’t do my research before posting out of my butt. I do that sometimes. Apparently a few coaches have recovers from crappy starts. I still don’t see it in BN.
Missouri football record under Drink-O-witz.. 2020 5-5 2021 6-7 2022 6-7 2023 11-2 It's possible for us. We will see.
I stand corrected. We shall see indeed. Maybe we should hire Drink. Looks like Beamer (Tech) and Kirk (Iowa). But GN ain’t that patient.
I agree with you completely. However, both you and I know that there will be some of our players that succumb to the lure of $$ and the likelihood of playing in the playoffs. Going to play at an arch-rival is certainly character revealing, but it is what it is.
We put ourselves in a deep long hole with all these sub-par hires post Meyer. On a personal note, I would rather wait a year and do a clean sweep if still needed.. Do it right rather than doing it half-assed with SS, Fuchs and company this year. And maybe theres a chance CBN turns it around.
