A Look At Our Home Schedule This Season

What could be really interesting--traveling to Austin with one loss!

 

For the record, I'm not quibbling over any teams preseason ranking.
Truth be told, I think Kentucky should be somewhere in CFN's poll
and I agree with ESPN on Ole Hit or Miss as high as #6.

 

I like the preseason rankings though they are very sketchy to me. FSU is ranked like on the top 5? Why? Because they play in the Almost College Conference.

They lost their superstar QB and that is not a plug and play position in college football. The have no real competition in the ACC except for 2 or 3 real games that could be considered competitive.

Boston College
Off
Memphis
California
SMU
Clemson
Off
Duke
Miami
North Carolina
Notre Dame
Off
Charleston Southern
Gators

Look at how perfectly staggered their bye weeks are laid out for them? It's as if they told the ACC which dates they wanted to have off.

I see Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, Gators and maybe Duke as games worth a damn as far as tough games for them.

That is why they are ranked in the top 5. These preseason ranking services take these schedules into account, that's why the Gators will not be on anyone's preseason top 25 or even top 30...

Yeah, it pays off the be in the Almost College Conference.

 

We need our A game every week.Anything less and we'll need a new coach.

 

Kentucky like Florida could finish unranked yet still be one of the best 25 teams. Schedules matter.
