86 Man Roster as of 12/22/23: Who's on it? Update: 1/21- Roster Now at 85. Complete Roster Post #73

I agree, it's a CFB issue, not a UF issue.

Right now I'm thinking post spring will be very active for the portal, it's just the way it is now. Players that get passed over on the depth chart or feel their role doesn't look as big as they thought it would be, will be checking out their options.

 

Sounds good- TY!... I’ll add both of them to the roster. They were out last year, so I’m not sure the extra year will need to be approved.

Zipp doesn’t need approval for sure. With his redshirt and 2020 Covid exceptions, he qualifies for a 6th season. If this would be Carroll’s 7th season, that would require approval, which I’m sure is just a formality. He missed all of 2023. Heck, that Miami TE, who was in the same recruiting class with Chargers’ QB Justin Herbert, was just approved for a 9th season.

 

Roster is updated (post's #1 & #54), looks good. I think we got it.

I’ll do a final update tonight or tomorrow when we get official word on this weekend's visitors. Looking for 1-3 more portal additions. For the last update, I’ll include the 2023 signees to the roster.

 

Monday 1/22 is the last day to enrol to be part of the spring semester. With Grimsley's commitment, we have our spring roster set.

Here’s the final updated roster for 01/21/24. Posts #1 and #54 are also updated for the last time. We’ll keep updates in the string as we head to spring. UF will list a spring roster, so they’ll take over from there.

In the final version the entire 85-man roster is listed. 82-players are currently on campus for winter S&C and spring ball.

I counted DT D’ante Robinson and CB Jameer Grimsley as part of the 20-man 2024 recruiting class. Technically they’re transfers, I guess. They're also 2024 FR, so that’s how I designated them.

Totally agree.

Might be one short at TE and WR, but like the roster setup.

 

Development is needed at edge. There will be ups and downs there, but I'm not worried too much. It may be the most talented position on the roster. Combined with the also very talented DE/5-technique room, UF should be atleast competent on the the outside of the line of scrimmage.

All in all, looking for improved Edge play in 2024. In 2025, and beyond, UF should have excellent Edge play. The seasoned talent will be there for the first time since maybe the Meyer years.
