What a great team but a quick question if anyone can figure this out...I looked up the team picture and don't recognize #2 in the middle. There is no #2 on the roster...any help with who that was?

Yes!! It isn't Chris Walker thanks for figuring that out as I completely forgot about that situation with Harris...memories fade so quickly with these guys.
Imagine if Harris did play for that team...another 6'10" guy that played great D and could rebound. When he was at USC he was a tough interior defender.
One of my favorite UF teams in any sport ever. Those dudes cared so much and never thought anything of individual attention or accolades. Loved watching them play.
They had pro guys on that team, but the media narrative was that it was an untalented overachieving team that only won due to Billy Donovan’s coaching job. Scottie, DFS, Young, Prather, and Frazier were all good enough to play in the NBA. Personally, I think Scottie would have made all star teams if a team had signed him and given him the reigns. He’s one of the best three point shooters in the world right now. I remember being pissed about how they needed to say we didn’t have NBA talent every game. If we are beating NBA talent, we have NBA talent.
— Agree. I was so nervous during that Dayton game. I wanted it so bad for the players as they deserved to be in the Final 4. I was so happy for them that they got there. Great memories.
Ouch for Wisconsin, that’s rough. The 13-14 team was so close to being 36-1 or 37-0 entering the tournament. Without the injuries they most definitely beat UCONN early in the season abs maybe even Wisconsin. Such an underrated team that gets lost in history because they didn’t win a title.
I actually forgot all about that situation, since I don't think he ever played for us. Obviously we didn't miss him much in that perfect season. But who knows, maybe it would have put us over the top, or then again maybe would have been a disruption of the perfect chemistry we had. No way to know. Obviously the following year was a pretty sad lack of quality big men and that's where it might have made more of a difference if he could have had his head on straight.
None of them were future pros when they showed up at Florida. They developed into excellent players while they were there, and Billy shares in the credit with them for their development.
Casey Prather's progress between junior and senior year is one of the most impressive jumps I've seen since I started following UF basketball. What a badass.
Ummm… what is the point of this declaration? Did I say that Billy D doesn’t deserve any credit for player development? Asking for a friend.
A friend of mine read your post and told me that it implied that Billy was handed a bunch of pros to work with. Please let your friend know that my friend might have misread your post.
