For a long while the narrative in the mainstream Republican party was that trump was now irrelevant and in the past. Seems to have been more wishful thinking than reality. He owns the R party and he’s driving that train.

(imagine gif of train wreck here)

    The next governor of Arizona:

It's Official: Kari Lake Clinches AZ Primary (townhall.com)

Kari Lake won every county in Arizona. She will be the next Arizona governor. I don't know why they took 2 1/2 days to declare the winner. Lake hasn't been in doubt since Wednesday votes dropped. This was never close to recount range.

Trump candidates have proven they can win primaries in Arizona. But can they win general elections? Latest polls in both the Senate and Gubernatorial races in Arizona have the D candidate up by at least 9 points.

Also interesting is what happened in the R primary for Governor, urban versus rural. Lake won big in the rural counties, but the margin of victory in the urban counties (Maricopa/Phoenix and Pima/Tucson) was narrow. D Hobbs will win Pima/Tucson, plus Santa Cruz Counties, and if the race is close in Maricopa County, Hobbs will likely win the election. It's how Arizona demographics work. About 7 million total people, with 5 million in Phoenix metro, 1 million in Tucson metro, and 1 million scattered throughout the rest of the state. Biden won Pima County by almost 100,000 votes in 2020. A tie in Maricopa County likely mean just not enough votes in the rest of the state to make up the difference. Basically a repeat of what happened in the POTUS election in 2020.

And likely why Hobbs is currently ahead in all the polls. Urban independents and swing voters don't like Trump, and don't like Trump clones like Lake and Masters.

Lake will claim a landslide win regardless of the actual outcome.

But she cheated, right? I mean, she was behind at night and then ahead by the next day. I heard from you guys that this is evidence of cheating...

Interestingly most of the happiest countries in the world practice some form of the democratic socialism advocated by AOC.

At least according to the former president and his supporters including his deranged subjects who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The Trump Rs running state-wide in Arizona may have a difficult time winning over independents. Which is ironic, because independents may be the reason the Trump Rs won! Independents can choose to vote in either R or D primary in Arizona; just not both. The theory is, many independents, especially in urban areas in Arizona, have already decided they are voting D this year. Consider it a never-Trump vote. But they did vote for Trump candidates in the primary because they believe the Trumpers will be easier to defeat in the general election. Something we've seen outside of Arizona too.

"I don't know why they took 2 1/2 days to declare the winner."

Because they counted all the votes, as they should. Remember when you used to believe in democracy???
