Is it? Ever heard of professional students? Regardless, I didn’t definitively say anything about the kid. Just “wondering” out loud

Grad school is beyond the 4 year bachelors so no that would not be the same thing.

Just another step down the road of unlimited eligibility for College players...can't limit their earnings potential ya know.

And he probably can play an 8th season based on his stats. Normally, a player has 5 years to play four. With the free covid year, it made it 6 years. He must’ve petitioned the NCAA for medical hardship, giving him 7 years to play four. But based on his participation, he’s only played two so far. So we will see if he gets an 8th.

Why even have eligibility limits any more? Most of the players are paid (NIL, scholarships, room and board, clothing, etc) and just pretend to be students. The schools set them up with tutors and ridiculously easy classes just to check a box. There’s zero loyalty to a school (and vice versa). Free agency abounds.

Since CFB is a shell of its former self and essentially a free minor league for the NFL, might as well start allowing those who can’t make NFL rosters come play for another school. UGA needs a game-manager QB for a year on their way to buying their fourth NC in a row? Out bid the Bucs for Trask or talk Brady into one more year and a Heisman trophy!

    I’m being sarcastic. I think.

It does not, but college football is not being played for people working on their doctorates

Guess again. Players complete their bachelor and go to grad school all the time. In fact, before this portal thing, that’s exactly how they avoid sitting a year.
I don’t understand where all the hate is coming from. Cam rising sat out this entire year because of injury. If he wants to play, he deserves to play.

Who is Qb for their bowl game? Is Rising their Van Wilder? What if he has another season ending injury, will they allow another year. I can see why the QBs dipped out.

Yeah, if the NFL isn't going to pick a player up, maybe he'll just hang around college for as many years as possible, and collect NIL money along the way. It will probably pay better than any other job he could get, and be a hell of a lot more fun.

The NCAA really needs to rethink eligibility in the era of NIL.
