Sure but their conference is not good so it's pretty logical to be efficient on Offense when you're playing Pepperdine and Portland haha

I heard on pod last week talking about how weak their conference was this year in comparison to previous seasons. I can't imagine Gonzaga has more than 1 or 2 Q1 wins? I know they beat UK, but what's their other signature win not named St Mary's, who they lost to twice.

That's the joke in my opinion. Kansas has lost a number of games recently. And, I think they've been banged up. But how Alabama gets seeded so far ahead of us after we took them to overtime at their home, demolished them on our home court, and handled them decisively in the SEC tournament is beyond me.

I thought a 6 seed. However, a 7 seed puts us in the #25-#28 team in the country range and our NET is #26, so it makes sense. Our SOS is #31 and our RPI is #27. Opportunity knocks. Just win the first game and then take our chances vs. Marquette.

Body of work and NET/SOS counts more than head to head by the selection committee. Alabama has the #1 SOS in D1, #14 in RPI, #9 in NET. That's what they go by and it's intentional to encourage teams to play tougher OOC schedules.

Are we playing in Indianapolis? (sorry I'm lazy and just want to bother you to answer the Q for me)

Jeez. I guess I'm the only one who that it was not an unfair seeding at all. Neither would a 6 have been.

Could say the same for Kentucky. Maybe the Gators are really good too.

Add in the inexplicable banishment of Kugel and this is a 7 roster team with one of its best athletes not even coming off the bench anymore. I don’t know it it would have been more favorable for us to have been a 6 but I believe the combination of Micah and Riley’s absence decreased our ranking.

I think the selection committee failed to consider the mindset of our players after losing s fellow player as we did.

it was a credit to the program that we kept it competitive until the final 8 or 9 minutes of the game.

Just watched ESPN Bracketology show go over our region in detail. Did not even mention UF. All KY and Marquette.

It's crazy to think that a win today would have made us, what a 6? Not much incentive to play well in the conference tournament. I thought we played our way back to a 6 at worst even with the loss.

Again, I love Miya because he catches little things like how many close wins we had over lesser teams: Michigan, East Carolina, LSU, Georgia twice. The metrics nearly count those as losses. But his opponent quality variance measurement is also why Miya argues that if we get past the first round, we can play with anyone.

    Those metrics are opponent-adjusted.

The pregame show said UF a 5 seed and if they win they'll be a 4. I didn't believe it. and there you go

I find your statement odd. I can't imagine myself or any teammate ever losing incentive like that in a ball game. Never.

How do we compare to USCe? What is our OOC schedule strength and Torvick?
