I’m not mad at it. You’re going to have to beat a good team at some point. It’s not guaranteed that UF will advance (or Marquette for that matter) to the second round. Let’s focus on the first round and see who we play next.
still think we're in good shape as others mentioned with the Friday game and Marquette is a beatable #2, but a 7 seed is weak sauce by the committee. Hope the guys take it personally and come out loaded for bear this weekend.
Lurk, I get it, agree, and like our first 2 match ups but we were at worst a 6 but again I like our first 2 matchups.
Many here were underestimating how badly the Vandy loss hurt us. The committee also doesn’t put a ton of stock in conference tournaments, their work on us was largely done days ago. If we did get moved down, I would bet it happened yesterday when we made the final. We lost a seed line but it allowed us to play Fri instead of Thursday.
Dwayne Wade no longer plays for Marquette so we would have a chance in the second round if we get there.
Hey, the only other team on that list that was a 7 seed was the only one on the list that ended the season as Champs. So I’ll take it.
Think we will be in the evening session Friday since the 10/10 matchup will be in Dayton Wednesday. Think the south region is relatively weak and we could beat Marquette if we get past the first round. The East Region is a monster despite what the folks at CBS had to say. The top 4 seeds, UConn, Iowa State, Illinois and Auburn all won their league tournaments. How the hell did Clemson end up with a 6 seed?
Kansas has been slipping for a month. They also have 2 starters hurt, not sure they will be back or not. I feel like they peaked in January. Maybe I just watched bad Kansas games, but nothing about them impressed me.
Alabama has a NET of 9 and the number one SOS in the country. They were always gonna be a top 4 seed. We were at worst one seed line off, but were given a good draw and an extra day. We did fine, the rest is up to us.
