Might be because they aren’t employees and they are not being paid by the school. They are being paid for their Name, Likeness and Image … by third-parties who are by rule not associated with the school. Any judge that decides rules regarding competition in an organized sports league are ‘unfair’ is incompetent. If you want to play in the league, you have to follow their rules. But, of course, judges don’t care about that and will of course make another ruling to destroy the sport.

You can stop anyone from changing schools. But to some degree, it all hinges on admissions requirement for any new student. One day a student that has a better academic standard is going to have his admission rejected and will take it to court because athletic transfers are given special treatment.

I agree...let's say I want to live in Miami, but I don't want to play for UM. Every home game I just transfer to whoever they're playing that week. :)

They aren’t getting paid to play. They are getting paid for Name Image Likeness, right?
