New CBS poll out today, Trump is up +5 nationally. Trump can finish -2 in the raw vote and he would still win because of the EC. Biden is not leading. Nor does he have a prayer. Just stop the insanity. It’s over for Biden. Trump is going to be the next POTUS.

Thanks for posting that… Nate Silver posted a new blog an hour ago criticizing 538 for what I pointed out a couple of pages ago, their projections seem disconnected from the actual polling…

Why I don't buy 538's new election model

 

538 has Biden's odds of winning tanking 6% since hitting a recent high of 54% on Wednesday, and is now trailing Trump. If Biden's camp was pointing to 538 as saying, "look, you're doing great", then they don't have that anymore.

I disagree. Biden is still good at reading scripted speeches off of a teleprompter. I have little doubt that his address at the DNC would be very effective. The real concern is that he could have another performance similar to that of the first debate and even when he performed somewhat better he still made gaffes in formats in which he had to respond extemporaneously including his one press conference and his interviews with George Stephanopoulos and Lester Holt.

 

538 is taking a lot of criticism for having their model down for so long. It still says, "We will publish an election forecast including the new presumptive Democratic nominee, when such nominee is announced".. I mean, it was pretty clear after about 2 days who it was going to be, but now the roll call votes are in, and she picked a running mate ... what more do they need.. Critics are saying they are trying to adjust it because it was embarrassingly bad with Biden-Trump.

 

Apparently Nate Silver, who isn’t associated with 538 anymore, commented on this and said he believes tbe reason 538 won’t publish their model with Harris is because it would show her losing. It would be funny if they went from the only service claiming Biden was winning, to the only service saying Harris is losing.

 

Jeez I hope that isn’t true.
